About this ebook

Genre: Paranormal Romance / Stand Alone Supernatural

As the ‘ugly’ one in the family, Mary has always felt a little insecure, an issue that was only enforced when she went away to college and everyone there kept staring at her. The men, boys really, at her school were an unattractive lot with not a single vampire, werewolf or real monster among them!

Thankfully, Mary is going home where the house is dark, the shelves are dusty and the people normal. Though her Aunt and Uncle have returned to the Old Country, her non-blood related cousin, Little Edward Monster, is still roaming the house…. Except Edward isn’t so little anymore. The silver fanged man has fully grown into his Monster blood and the tempting package may prove too much for Mary to resist.

Note: This is a stand alone 9000+ word love story.

    EDWARD MONSTER - SHIFTER HEAT

I stared at the awful bright yellow sunlight from the back of the cab. At the end of the lane was the second story Gothic style house where I grew up.

It’s been four years. Time to return to your roots, Mary.

As we drove closer, I smiled at the familiar reassuring black-grey rain clouds over our house.

I never knew why we were the only ones lucky enough to get the rain clouds. I suspected it was one of Grandpa’s experiments. Our poor neighbors had to do with constant sunshine.

We never did at our house.

    Was it ever my house?

My aunt and uncle were always very nice to me but I was never sure. Even if I was the ugly one in our family, they never mistreated me.

My perky breasts and blond hair couldn’t compete. I wished I were one of the pretty people with long silver vampire fangs, a coat of brown werewolf hair, or rugged neck bolts.

I breathed in deep as my heart quickened. Werewolf hair and fangs hard to find a man like that.

Unlike the members of my family, I wasn’t lucky enough to be born with the vampire or werewolf gene. I didn’t get the Black Lagoon fins, have a scientist put me together, or anything normal.

Still, my folks were always nice enough even if I was the oddball. I could never thank them enough for that.

The driver hit the brakes hard and his voice quivered. "Lady, you sure you want to stop here?"

I smiled at the second story grey wood house behind the stone wall. Yes, is there something wrong?

He took a long look at me and his eyes lingered on my breasts. I wasn’t sure if he tried to be nice like the guys at college. They all pretended I was pretty there too.

    Yes, quite sure.

He mumbled. It’s your funeral. He hurried out of the cab and his gaze went toward the black cast iron gate.

I stared at the second story window of my aunt and uncle’s former bedroom. It
