2025. Each year brings a new lockdown.

Dane and Mallory live in the same apartment complex, but have ignored each other for weeks. When they finally meet face-to-face, without masks, they experience an overwhelming passion. They don't know how they can ever keep six feet apart.

Fucking virus! I shouted from my skateboard. Steam from the morning rain rose from the concrete and swirled as I raced down the desolate street.

Nice 18th birthday present. Thank you, Universe! But I wasn't bitter... well, maybe a little.

No one was out, except for a few joggers in safety masks. A few people trudged along clutching bags of groceries. Yep, Food Bank Friday. One old dude wore a bright aqua backpack with smiley-faces. Downright eerie.

But despite the fifth season of deadly viruses coming in all shapes and sizes, all starting every New Years Eve off with a bang, the air smelled clean and fresh. Now that we made it to 2025, things just might get better.

I hopped the curb and clipped along my favorite concrete wall, metal wheels screeching as I came to a halt. With one kick I flipped my skateboard into my arms. But who gives a shit? There was no one to impress.

A quick sprint up my block, then I plowed through the overgrown weed-forest in front of our apartment complex. Home sweet home.

The front door buzzed its annoyingly loud blast, and sprung open. Out walked the girl from down the hall. The one that never talked to me. The one allergic to saying 'Hello' when I tried to be nice.

She was petite, but pretty damn strong. That little Superwoman hauled two monstrous garbage bags past me, heading for the dumpster. She ignored me as usual, her chestnut brown hair dancing in the breeze as she marched by. When they were giving out hot bodies, she was in the front of the line. Definitely out of my league, I admit... but what's the harm in fantasizing?

I pretended not to watch as she hoisted one bag over the dumpster with a groan. Her faded magenta gym pants with a rip over her left ass cheek, pulled up, giving her a wedgie. Was she doing this on purpose? Then the second bag. Her shorts went up so far, both cheeks were sticking out. I always admired her hot body, but never noticed her Goddess-like butt. How could a petite girl like that have
