    Mind Magic and the Subconscious

    ––––––––

Every person has a subconscious mind that can be a guiding spirit, the interface between your mind and body, a fount of inner wisdom, and above all your intuition when confronted with difficult situations. This subconscious is responsible for thoughts and processes that are beyond what you are normally conscious of through informed and logical thinking, and will consist of dreams, hunches, pre-recognition, flashes of creativity, and intuition. It can also quite often lead to sabotaging yourself, because of motives that we may not even be consciously aware of.

You enter the realm of mind magic when you learn to communicate with your subconscious and tap its various dimensions. For an effective practice of mind magic, you need to be able to understand and trust the communication you receive from your subconscious mind.  And when you do this effectively, you are well on the path to motivation to reach desired goals, being very creative, being very aware of your own knowledge, which you can use as a source for inner guidance, while it can help you to remain in the best of health.

It was only in the 20th century that psychologists developed the concept of the subconscious. They realized that the mind unconsciously worked without any control, and was quite often perceived as a place that had repressed memories, childhood fears, and inner demons. This led to psychosomatic illnesses, compulsions, obsessions, and inexplicable fears. This was the theory that Freud came up with, while Jung theorized that this caused a link to cosmic consciousness, which helped to link to the shared mind of all mankind, better known as universal intelligence. This is the basis of mind magic, and an explanation for the reason why in spite of distances and no means of effective communication, many of mankind’s cultures have similar beliefs, use and develop similar symbols and rituals, and even invented similar things even though inventors were separated over time and space. It is only in the present few hundred years that modern methods of communication have led to easier sharing of knowledge.

There are psychologists, who feel that the subconscious is naive and cannot really distinguish between right and wrong, or bad and good. This may be the reason why many of us develop habits that are not healthy, like overeating and smoking, even though in our logical mind we are thoroughly convinced that these are habits that are not good for us. It is here that the subconscious overrides logic and only looks for pleasure and gratification. It is this inability to differentiate between the real and imagined world that leads to the subconscious getting influenced by visualization, stories, and other imagery.

Theorists, who believe in mind magic on the other hand, believe that the subconscious is a place of great wisdom that can help in healing, and has an ability to give spiritual guidance, give insights, and an intuition to deal with the problems in life, which is what gives it an ability to recover from illnesses. The belief is that this is because the mind in its subconscious state is directly connected to the universal creative mind, which can make ideas into physical realities.

Mind magic can help to bypass the conscious mind, so that it does not in any way obstruct the subconscious from any effort
