    About the Author

    Chapter 1

Why Start a Happiness Path Support Group?

If you want to deepen your own practice of The Happiness Path, one of the best ways to do so is to lead a support group of your own. A The Happiness Path support group has a unique way of keeping you on track and focused on what you want to create, rather than what you think should logically happen.

A support group will help you think and dream bigger. It will help you see what’s impeding your life faster and more clearly. And it will give you a circle of friends who will openly and consistently support and encourage creating good and loving experiences in your life and theirs.

I’ve developed The Happiness Path so that it is simple and elegant. The unnecessary elements have all been removed, so all that’s left is that which is truly fundamental to creating desired experiences. Still, with all its simplicity, I know that The Happiness Path is not necessarily easy to practice, at least not in the early stages.

Which is why having a small support group can prove vital to learning, practicing, and embodying the process. You'll become proficient in creating the life experiences you really want to have in your future.

The Happiness Path is just one of those processes best learned and best practiced with the encouragement and help of a support group. In my own life, when I lived in Southern California, I ran a support group that met every Wednesday evening from January 1999 to December 2009. Besides all the support it gave me, I have to say its greatest gift had been providing me with a community of like-minded thinkers who encouraged and advocated positive creating. Whenever one of us forgot her potential, there was always someone else there to remind her.

It is my goal in this book to provide you the tools you need to successfully organize your group, lead your meetings, process your issues, and develop behaviors and thinking patterns that support and sustain great creations. Naturally, I will use examples based on my own support group, since this group has truly been one of my greatest teachers.

Your life is your work of art. If your masterpiece doesn't look the way you want it to, use your mind as brush to change it.
