About this ebook

We all struggle with some aspect of our walk with God. It may appear trifling, or like a mountain in perspective. As a counselor, I have heard all types of questions from my clients. Am I the only one that feels this way? Do other Christians struggle with their relationship with God? Am I the only one who wonders whether this is all something we made up and there is no God? The questions have been many, but sadly, the answers have been few. Questions are the arrows which point us in the direction of the knowledge we need to learn. Your questions are indicators of the lack of clarity, lack of evidence, possible confusion, and maybe a little doubt thrown in, which, if answered, will probably propel you in the direction which God wants for you. Either they are just frivolous imaginings of a person who has nothing better to do than ask strange questions, or they may well be the promptings of God to get you to start learning and preparing for the work He has for you.

    Preface

We all struggle with some aspect of our walk with God. It may appear trifling, or like a mountain in perspective. As a counselor, I have heard all types of questions from my clients. Am I the only one that feels this way? Do other Christians struggle with their relationship with God? Am I the only one who wonders whether this is all something we made up and there is no God? The questions have been many, but sadly, the answers have been few.

When confronted with these questions and sentiments, many pastors and Bible teachers tend to shoot back quick and easy answers like, Just have faith in God? or Trust in the Lord, or other phrases of this kind. These answers take away the responsibility of the speaker, and place it fully on the shoulders of the ones asking them. The problem is that if you are the one asking, it means you won’t get an answer because you didn’t know how to get the answer to begin with; and you just got a non-answer as well.

Questions are the arrows which point us in the direction of the knowledge we need to learn. Your questions are indicators of the lack of clarity, lack of evidence, possible confusion, and maybe a little doubt thrown in, which, if answered, will probably propel you in the direction which God wants you. Either they are just frivolous imaginings of a person who has nothing better to do than ask strange questions, or they may well be the promptings of God to get you to start learning and preparing for the work He has for you.

Notice the following passage from Ephesians. In it, you will read about why God has given us pastors, teachers and so forth. Besides just to teach us, God wants them to be training the members of their congregations to be doing the work that God has called them to do.

Ephesians 4:11-16, "And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as
