About this ebook

This book is a take on the recent events in the US, regarding racism and its impact on America. I present my argument from a Latino's point of view. As a Chicano, I watch how the black community is being impacted in a negative way by certain forces which do not have them or this country in their best interest. I look at the issue through "brown eyes," and compare much of what's happening from the perspective of a person of color whose people have suffered colonization by several nations, and still choose to view the US as my own nation. I argue that the color of our skin must not be the factor that drives us, but instead we must be motivated by the reality of being an American. I also argue that the force which is trying to railroad the black "movement" is a Leftist driven group of people whose only goal is to reshape the United States into their own personal version of what I believe will result in the people being completely dependent and at the mercy of a "Left-wing government" that does not care about them.

    Preface

Sin has been a favorite subject of mine since even before I was saved. Back then I just sort of enjoyed doing it; I didn’t necessarily give it much thought. I just waited for some pleasurable thought to get into my brain and I just sort of ran off with it.

As a Christian, I have had to struggle much with it. No, I don’t mean I have struggled because I was sinning, but more so with what it actually means. If I were to ask 15 different pastors, and Bible teachers, I would get 15 different answers. Some of those answers might kind of sound the same, but there would be some basic differences. You might guess that those differences may not be a big deal, but to a new Christian the differences, even the small ones, often serve more to confuse than to help clarify things.

My hope is that this book will serve several objectives. First, that you come to a better understanding of this thing called sin. Secondly, that you come to realize what kind of power, if any, it has on your life as a Christian. Thirdly, that you are able to explain and teach the differences of sin to others. And finally, So that you can come to know what a life without sin can be like. Yea, I said that, life without sin, or at least without the type of sin that matters.

To some people anything that is wrong is sin, and anything that is right is not. The problem with this argument is that someone has to decide what is right and what is wrong. The minute that happens you will have hundreds of other persons disagreeing with the definitions. Some will argue that life has taught them the difference between right and wrong. Others will say that the Bible is the only source of what distinguishes right from wrong, but that only their version and or translation of the Bible is the correct one. Still others will agree with the Bible being the sole source of what is right and what is wrong, but they will argue that their interpretation of the Word of God is the correct one to judge right from wrong. These arguments will probably never cease until the Lord does away with this old universe and He creates a new one.

While you may find that on some parts of this book I will get a bit long-winded, if you follow the logic and Biblical evidence which I will present to you, I believe that you will come to the same conclusions. Of course that will work if you haven’t already made up your mind about this topic and are unwilling to consider hard evidence. But, if you already felt that way, you wouldn’t have bought this book to read, right?

    Dedication

I dedicate this book to all of you Christians, who are struggling with this concept of sin, just as I did. I pray that God grants you wisdom as you read through this book and are confronted with questions and ideas that you may have yet to come across in your walk with Him. I also pray that you have patience as you deal with all those around you that are critical, judgmental, and overly religious, as they forget that they are dealing with human beings just like them.

    Thank You

I want to extend a giant thanks to Marisol Lucio, who took the time to review this book for errors and comment on it. You help is greatly appreciated. You are a blessing to me. As well, I want to thank Isabel Aranda-Vallejo for her perspective and questions which helped me to better work out how I would approach the way I wrote this book. Isabel, you helped me to better clarify my thoughts by just listening to me. Finally, I also want to thank Pastor John Ortega, who argued with me (in a nice way) on some of the points in this book, this helped me to find better ways to answer the questions my readers might have. John you are a true friend to me.

    Chapter One

    Sin

Our walk with God is affected by two opposite and contrary concepts. The words used are simple, but the consequence is eternal. These words are sin and righteousness. The former indicates a wrong standing before God, and the latter signifies an acceptable standing before God. The first will result in eternal separation from the Father, and the second will mean that a human can live in His eternal presence.
