About this ebook

I wrote another book which I titled, “What is Sin Really?” In it I touched on the subject of this book, which has since captured my attention. I decided to put together a short book, if you will, about the whole concept. To end up with anything which will remotely look logical and yet not sacrilegious at the same time, I will start by establishing a specific premise:
• That God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and perfect (meaning without flaws), and
• That no attribute of His is in any way lessened by His choosing to need something, and
• That this “need” (in the form of a desire) is what motivated God to create the universe and humanity, and to set in motion all things which would have to happen in a precise and specific manner to end up with the results He desired.

    PREFACE

I wrote another book which I titled, What is Sin Really? In it I touched on the subject of this book, which has since captured my attention.

    • That this need (in the form of a desire) is what motivated God to create the universe and humanity, and to set in motion all things which would have to happen in a precise and specific manner to end up with the results He desired.

For those who will immediately take insult with the word need here, let me clarify. For God to assure His plans are fulfilled exactly as They (the Holy Trinity) desire, then it will be necessary for Them to manipulate the process in such a manner as to cause it to happen in a specific manner. This necessity (need) is required for success. The word need has several definitions (I used Dictionary.com):

    Noun

    1. A requirement, necessary duty, or obligation: There is no need for you to go there.

    2. A lack of something wanted or deemed necessary: To fulfill the needs of the assignment.

    3. Urgent want, as of something requisite: He has no need of your charity.

    4. Necessity arising from the circumstances of a situation or case: There is no need to worry.

    5. A situation or time of difficulty; exigency: To help a friend in need; to be a friend in need.

    Verb (used with object)

    6. To have need of; require: To need money.

    7. verb (used without object)

    8. To be under an obligation (used as an auxiliary, typically in an interrogative or in a negative statement, and followed by infinitive, in certain cases without to; in the 3rd person singular the form is need, not needs ): He need not go.

    9. To be in need or want.

    10. To be necessary: There needs no apology.

As you can see, there is no one definition, alone, which defines need. I will be using definition 2 above as part of my argument in this book. If you define it differently, then you and I are not meaning the same thing. I believe God needed specific results, which would fulfill His desire to create humans who would want to have a special relationship with Him, and with whom He could share His unending love for eternity.

Now that this has been clarified, let’s get on with the argument.

The question which has been asked throughout the ages is the same one here, Why are we here? As saints (those of us who believe God lives inside of us) the answer to this question takes on a particular slant. We believe it was no accident or happenstance of evolution that we got here. Yet just believing we were created by God does not fully answer the question, Why? We accept God created us, and even that They did so in Their own image (whatever this fully involves is still to be considered).

My goal with this book is to argue, using Scriptural support of course, what God’s motives and reasoning was for the creation of humans. I want to answer the question for myself, regardless of whether others want the answer. I believe God gave me (as I believe He did for all others), the capacity to question things. He even challenges humans to test Him in the Scriptures.

    1. In Malachi 3:10, the Scriptures quote God as saying Test Me. In the NASB the words used
