The offices of the research and development group were a quite a bit less composed than Lisa had expected them to be. The installation and support group had been very officious, almost stern, with a clean modern style to them. She thought with it’s larger budget and high pay grade, R&D would be that but turned up to eleven. Instead, it looked like a cross between a handyman’s garage and a mad scientist’s lab. It only took a few days of working there to realize that this was merely a reflection of the tone of its staff.
Her old job had been customer facing and it was important to make the customer feel like they were in the hands of consummate professionals. Here, the only people that would see the workspace were the employees; not even the executives came down here to look at the places.
