Casey was having a very confusing day. On one hand she was happy and on the other hand something told her that she ought to get mad at everyone and everything. That left her feeling all lazy, like she wasn’t able to do a thing and that wasn’t a very good thing. This was because she was about to do something she had wished to do for three years. If things had been a little different than they were already then she would have been the happiest girl in the world.

After so many years of living a rather lonely life, Casey’s best friend was returning from Harvard and she was the most excited woman on planet earth. She had longed for this day for months, probably years, ever since the day she watched him board that plane and she knew she was going to miss John. And it had turned out to be correct, she had missed him every day and at times she had wished he was right there to help her out of the many problems she always found herself in, and now he was back and she felt like living out of her skin. 

John was a cool guy, that is, he had not been changed by Harvard. He was also a very smart guy, his brains worked wonders and that was something that could never be changed by anyone. John was that guy who had the correct answer to anything and everything. He was funny and at the same time deep. Casey had known him ever since they were nine years old and the first time she laid eyes on him she knew that they were going to be friends forever. He had been everything she had hoped for in a friend. 

When they finished high school, John had moved on to Harvard. Casey had not been as lucky, although her mother liked to say as smart, but she had nevertheless gone to a university not very far away from home. It had been the worst day of her life, watching John leave. But then again they both needed to make a future and as far as she was concerned, they had made very good futures of themselves. Casey had done Economics and just to prove her mother wrong, she had worked wonders on her course. 

John was always onto physics, everything he breathed was physics. He spoke about physics more times than he probably breathed. No one was against it, especially not Casey who loved to spend her days watching what he was doing. His father was proud of him and so was his mother, Casey’s parents were also very proud of John but unfortunately, Casey wouldn’t say the same for herself. At least not before, at the moment they seemed to have a positive opinion about her but it was because she lived in a condo and drove a Porsche to work. 

But she had been proud of her friend and she was proud of what he had accomplished. John now had money, and not just money, his money was still pouring in. that was what Casey had gathered from their weekly chats. But that didn’t excite her as much as the prospect of seeing him again. So she got ready for the office, cancelled most of her appointments and waited for John. The plan was for her to get him in the airport, well that was her plan but they had agreed that he was to come to her office. She wanted to surprise him. 

A few minutes before she stated her journey to the airport, her door opened and John walked in. Casey wasn’t looking; she was busy, getting rid of her work so that she could go get John. She didn’t look until she noticed that someone had flopped on the chair opposite her. 

At least the seat welcomed me, came John’s voice and Casey looked up in shock. 

John! Oh My Gad you are here! Casey said getting up from her seat. 

And I’m finally getting a welcome, John said and got to his feet. 

His brain was however on overdrive, the woman he thought was his best friend had suddenly turned into this beautiful chic that he would trip for. He held her at arm’s length and took in her body making sure to maintain a smile that didn’t scream pervert. Casey broke from the hold and hugged him tight, almost choking him but he was alright, he liked the attention her was receiving.
