Caitlin held her beautiful baby in her arms, whispering sweet nothings to her and kissing her forehead. Her skin was soft, and still smelled of the different world from which she’d come to Caitlin a mere week ago. The babe was fast asleep right now but Caitlin knew she will soon wake up and demand feeding.

She’s gorgeous, isn’t she? she said softly, kissing Emma’s head again.

Caitlin heard soft rustles before the warmth of her husband hit her back, curling around her form like delicious, protective blanket. She closed her eyes and leant back, and Jeremy cradled her head in his hands instantly, pushing his fingers through her soft auburn hair.

It was a warm April weekend when they’d finally come home from the hospital. Caitlin had been still a bit tired from the welcomed but still exhausting ordeal of childbirth, but excitement bubbled in every part of her body, like a blanket of overwhelming joy was around her all the time. She’s a mother! A mother of a gorgeous girl. It was incredible.

They’d been married with Jeremy for five years, and though the little angel came to them unexpectedly, they both welcomed it. When Caitlin came home from the hospital and first showed Emma to the extended family members who all visited them in their home, her parents started crying from happiness and her mom quite literally broke down. They all smiled at the baby like she was made from diamond, and in a way, she was. A jewel that came from Caitlin and Jeremy.

Caitlin stole a glance at his husband as she gently put Emma down onto the bed. Jeremy was watching their daughter with a soft look and gentle smile on his face, and Caitlin felt a rush of love for him. Everything was perfect, and they were home, the visitors finally away.

Come here and kiss me, she said, nudging the man with her elbows.

Jeremy let out a short chuckle but wrapped his arms around Caitlin, and the woman leant into the warm embrace instantly. His arms were strong but gentle against her body, fingers dancing on her skin and he stroked lovely circles onto her sides, her hip, and her now flat belly.

I still can’t wrap my head around it, he murmured then, pressing a kiss to Caitlin’s head. I really am a father.

Well, you had nine month to get used to the idea.

It’s different, Caitlin said then.

She let her head fall back so she could rest it against Jeremy’s chest. The twenty-nine year-old man was her childhood love, and sometime she couldn’t believe his luck that she could keep him for such a long time. There was a time, when they graduated from high school, that things turned bad and they broke up for a few years, but they got together again in college a few years later and after that, everything was perfect again. They had their differences of course, but Caitlin wouldn’t have changed anything.

And there was no denying that the man was drop-dead gorgeous. With his bright blue eyes, curly dark hair and nice features he had a touch of boyishness that he couldn’t grow out of, yet he was masculine enough to never be considered anything less than masculine. He had a broad frame, defined muscles and always wore stubble that Caitlin sometimes complained about but, in fact, enjoyed.

Like now. As Jeremy kissed her cheek, she felt the scrape of stubble against her skin. It wasn’t bad at all – she moved her head so she could get more of the sensation.

She was suddenly reminded of the fact that they haven’t really been intimate with each other since she got to the last part of the pregnancy, which made things difficult. She got Jeremy off a few times with her mouth, but now Caitlin found herself missing their gentle love makings terribly. I… I’d love to but I still can’t, Caitlin muttered, embarrassed and angry at her own inability. But there was nothing she could do; they’d have to wait until her woman parts were completely healed.
