About this ebook
Millions of people are afflicted with a condition known as Fibromyalgia. Those who have it can experience severe muscle pain, extreme fatigue, decreased brain function, and a host of other symptoms. Often called a "wastebasket diagnosis" it is finally being recognized by more and more doctors.
This book is written by a person with Fibromyalgia. He made the decision that he would not let fibromyalgia stop him from living as close to normal a life as possible. This book discusses some of the things he has learned in the past few years that have helped him deal with his condition.
Many people think that fibromyalgia is "all in the head", and is used as an excuse by people who don't want to work or want sympathy. This was the premise the author used to not let fibromyalgia beat him. He decided if it was all in the head then that was how he would defeat it. This book outlines ten steps anyone can use to help them and their friends and family members to deal with the disease.
Written with a little bit of humor, this book is useful to anyone who has fibromyalgia or who may want to learn more about it. It shows that you can beat fibromyalgia or let it beat you.

A Cradle Catholic who fell away from the church in his twenties, Paul began to find his way back to God after a near-miss accident while working. At 55 this caused him to rethink his life and what exactly his purpose is. He currently works for a human service agency, is married to the woman that God sent him ten years ago and has two adult children and six wonderful grandchildren. He loves writing and you can read his two blogs, “The Wayward Catholic” and “Odds and Ends”. He is also working on his next project “A Grandfather’s Wisdom” a series of booklets describing the wisdom he would like to pass on to his grandchildren so they can avoid making the same mistakes he did.

About the author
Introduction
You don’t feel right
. You can’t define exactly what it is, other than something is wrong. You are always run down, you have aches and pains, and there are days you don’t even want to get out of bed. Then there is the fog you always seem to be in. Tasks that used to be simple for you, now are challenging, you get confused and almost paralyzed when you have to make a decision. You see your doctor, he tells you it is just stress and you need to relax. You don’t know what is wrong, you only know how you feel. Thoughts of possible heart trouble or even worse, cancer, race through your head. The doctor might prescribe something, maybe an anti-depressant, maybe something else, but it doesn’t help. Welcome to the world of fibromyalgia, welcome to my world.
Fibromyalgia is a medical condition that has been misunderstood for many years and is finally being recognized as a potentially debilitating condition affecting the nerves. Even though it is becoming more recognized, there are many doctors who still don’t believe it is real. But I can attest to the fact that it is real to those of us who have it.
According to an estimate by the Center for Disease Control in 2005, 5 million people (2% of the
