Fat Loss Lifestyle that challenges the so called Known

    Challenging the Known

In everything we do, we believe in challenging the so called ‘known’. Our team of specialists have put together a perfectly tailored System using the latest scientifically proven evidence, to allow the user to become at one with their own nutrition. We understand willpower is similar to a muscle being very strong but it cannot be flexed continuously. This Lifestyle not only opens our clients’ minds but also provides them with knowledge they can use for the rest of their life: learning how to get the body they can be proud of; and most importantly, how to keep it with minimum willpower.

    This is,

    Challenge the "Known"

What is ‘The Empowered By Lifting Lifestyle’?

Empowered By Lifting provides an in-depth, logic-based nutrition and fitness Lifestyle to suit the unique needs and lifestyles of each client. Our Lifestyle is customised to suit all fitness levels, from the general population to professional athletes and marathon runners. One-to-one involvement between an Empowered By Lifting professional and the client helps to ensure personal goals are achieved and sustainable results are attained whilst providing support, resources and maintaining optimal standards throughout the process.

Empowered By Lifting is not selling you supplements or the latest crazy workout.

Empowered By Lifting is about giving you knowledge and educating you so that you can use it for the rest of your life. It’s a bit like the old saying; "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, and he eats for life."

Radical diets and punishing workouts may have a quick effect and allow you to drop a few pounds, or gain a bit of muscle, but neither of these options will work in the long term.

Without knowing you well yet (although we hope to get to know you on our Facebook page), we can only suggest stereotypical things which may have happened. Most people, when "sorting their diet out", cut carbs, increase protein, lower fat and train a lot harder; adding in cardio randomly when their willpower is at its peak.

Sweat, hard work and burning as many calories as possible whilst eating as little as possible is the only way, right? Many years ago, before we knew better, maybe this was the case, but now we have science and research on our side.

So, what happens if you go ahead with the ‘old school’ method?

Carbohydrate stores in the muscles are used rapidly, reducing the size of the muscle and resulting in the immediate weight reduction. Obviously, some fat loss will occur but also muscle loss.

Next, the person stands on the scales and is happy with the downward movement. Happy days! Weight loss achieved – everyone else is doing this so it must be right. Sorry, but nope, that’s wrong. When all the carbs have been used from the muscles, weight loss slows or stops (this happened last time you dieted, right?). Maybe it will take 4 weeks, maybe 8, it all depends.

Hormonal changes then occur reducing the body’s ability to burn fat, and keep or retain muscle. You might have heard this referred to as ‘survival mode’. The last thing the body wants to do when exercise levels are super high and calories are super low is burn fat.

But, your protein is high, right? So, you can’t be losing muscle? Sorry, but that’s wrong again.

It’s down to your awesome willpower to keep going, but as we know, the last diet failed because the willpower ended; so here we are again. Lost many pounds of fat. Look like you have less muscle. Energy is rock bottom. You have less strength and have potentially caught a cold because of immune system issues. Then it happens: the Rebound!

"Can’t be bothered with this; Feel like crap all the time"; Fighting every urge to eat; Craving… and craving food you don’t even like; Wishing you could eat that chocolate bar"; and on it goes. Open, close, open the fridge again; looking for something to stop the cravings.

You then find yourself in the kitchen with your hand in the cereal box; handful after handful, Nutella on toast, peanut butter on… What the hell?! Eat it from the jar! The diet is over. It’s pointless. You tell yourself you have bad genetics and settle for not having the body you really want. So this mentality continues for a few days, but the problem is, the metabolic rate is not static like is commonly "known", instead it is suppressed. Now the fat and carb cells are primed ready for the higher intake of calories. This is down to something called fat cell hyperplasia. Okay, big word – ignore. Basically, it means your body is like a sponge, ready for this over indulgence post-diet. The hyper part of the word means the potential to gain even more fat than you did before this diet is more than likely. So one week later, you’re back to the same body fat level, or maybe more, and potentially the same, or higher, body weight. Sound about right? Now come the feelings of crap; disappointment; self-hate. The diet starts again – YOYO dieting explained right there. The good thing is the willpower is back but the metabolism is not; it will reduce quickly to compensate for the low calories but will tend to rise slowly. This time, the calories will have to be lower to compensate for the lower metabolic rate. The cycle continues.

Forgetting science for a moment, the writer of this e-Book did all of the above some ten years ago before using evidence-based information to fine tune what you are about to learn in this e-Book.
