Life As I See It - Kim Thomas
Acknowledgement
To all those moments that have inspired me in life
It’s Life
Be You
Be you,
Unapologetically you.
Be you,
True to yourself,
And not ashamed.
Be you,
But do not harm others,
And embrace individuality.
Be you,
Because no one else in this
Something More
I am looking for something more,
More that I have in my life.
I am looking for adrenaline,
Passion and fire.
I am looking for something more,
That will make me feel alive,
That will make me question everything,
That will make me wonder who I even am.
I am looking for something more,
Although I am not quite sure what that may be,
And I am not even sure,
Where I might find it,
All I know is that when I find it,
I will know,
That I have found something more.
True Crime
We have a sordid obsession with true crime
There is no point denying the obvious.
We have a fascination with the gruesome details,
And a curiosity with the reasons behind the crime.
The whys to the what cause these individuals,
To become the devil themselves.
There are even fan groups for each notorious criminal,
And not to mention the millions of books,
That fly off the shelves of the shops each day.
People think the fascination with true crime began in the 21st Century,
But I do not think that hypothesis is strictly true.
True crime has always held a fascination,
From the 1800’s to the 1960’s,
To the 1970’s through to the 1990’s,
And then through to the modern era.
The world has always wanted to know more,
To understand more,
But these days true crime is more publicised,
Both through books and newspapers,
But the TV shows and movies as well.
We will never lose our fascination with true crime,
Because true crime is all around us.
Warrior
I am all alone in this world,
At least that is how it feels,
I am alone battling my demons,
Facing the evil,
That surrounds me every day.
I am all alone in this world,
Marching to the beat,
That thunders deep in my chest.
I am all alone in this world,
Wearing my armour,
Holding up my sword,
Slaying the dragons,
With every swipe,
And with every turn.
I am alone in this world,
But I shall never be defeated,
For nothing will break me.
You may scratch my armour,
But you will never slay me.
