About this ebook

This is Life is my second poetry book following on from Life As I See It.

This is Life contains a collection of poems about everyday life and the journey of life, I am sure that you can find quite a few poems you can relate too.

This is Life is quite a special poem book as I have dedicated the poem book to two special people in my life.

This Is Life - Kim Thomas

    This is Life

    Autumn leaf

You were like an autumn leaf,

    Blowing into our lives unannounced,

And touching every part of us.

You were like an autumn leaf,

    Full of life,

    Dancing in the breeze.

You were like an autumn leaf,

    Because when your time came,

You departed us with a sigh.

    Waves

    It comes in waves,

The grief I feel from losing you,

    One minute I’ll be fine,

And the next I can barely breathe.

I will never be able to heal,

The empty space you left in my heart,

But I know what you would want me to do,

    Stay strong and move on,

    Until we meet again.

    For you

    I don’t think I’ll ever stop missing,

I don’t ever think the feeling of loss will ever go away,

But for you I will live on,

For you I will be who you taught me to be.

    Reunited

I hope you and the little white dog have been reunited,

I hope that you are sat together,

I hope she has her squeaky toy,

    And you your sherbet lemons.

I hope you are both at peace,

And that you will spent eternity together.

    Loving you

    I’ll never stop loving you,

I’ll never stop protecting your memory,

I will always be protecting you,

    Until my dying day.

    The Link

    I cannot link,

    The box I saw,

    To your face.

    I cannot link,

    That box,

    That was once your body.

    I cannot link,

    That you are in there,

    And not out here.
