About this ebook

Ever wondered why the sky is blue? Why did the chicken cross the road? Why are there no parachutes on an air plane. Me too. I got you covered in this hilarious book that tries to use logic to explain some of the silliest hypothetical questions ever asked.

I have been infatuated with hypothetical questions ever since I was a little kid. I would torture my parents with endless questions like what if a tiger and a lion fought or if any team can win on any given Sunday, who wins on Monday. Lucky for them my curiously never left me, but now I have a place to solve my own and hundreds of others burning hypothetical questions.

In this book I take some of the most popular hypothetical questions polled online and attempt to provide a once and for all answer to them. If you are fed up with driving on parkways, but parking in drive ways, take a journey with me diving into the mysteries of the origins and solutions to the hardest stumpers that have riddled mankind for ages.

Why? The Book that Answers All Your Burning Questions - Christopher Beachum

    Special Thanks

First off I want to thank my grandma Barbara Black for constantly being there for me. Without your support I would not be the man I turned out to be today.

Next this book would have never been possible without my close family Tim Beachum my dad, John Beard my step dad, and Kristine Black my mother, that put up with all my hypothetical questions growing up. (Do note that they made a multimillion dollar tv show out of those questions I used to and still nag you with!)

To Zoe Beard, Michael Beachum, Jasmine Myers, and Aiden Myers here is an exact book of everything you should CONSTANTLY ask your parents as you grow up to carry on the tradition.

Can’t have a special thanks without mentioning my best friend T.J. Holland. Many a days we would spend growing up having conversations based on some of the questions I cover in the book.

Finally to everyone that contributed their questions to this book. I am not trying to go for the world’s longest special thanks so… You know who you are [Your Name Here].

To the billions of people that didn’t contribute questions to the book, get it together you bums! The next edition of this book won’t write itself. (Check out the back of the book for more info on contributing to future Why books)

    Introduction

Unlike your traditional book, this book is, well... unique to say the least. By far I am no English major, however, there was some things that I needed to get off my chest. The same reason why you choose to read this book is the reason I wrote this book. Why?

We are inquisitive people and are always curious why things are they way they are.

    Why is the sky blue?

Why do we drive on parkways and park in drive ways?

Where do you throw away a garbage can when you are done with it?

Just a few of the questions pondered in this book.

My infatuation with the question why started off when I was little. Instead of going outside playing with my friends, playing video games till my eyes bleed, or other typical kid things I would bother my parents by asking them a whole bunch of ridiculous hypothetical questions. Ok well maybe I did do that typical kid stuff, but my time with my parents was spent questioning them to death.

I was most famous for the animal vs. animal questions.

If a lion and a tiger were to meet in the wild who would win?

My parents probably thought they were in some kind of cruel interrogation of never ending questioning. No lawyers and the only break was sleeping.

Of course now that I am older I always like to point out the fact that they ended up making a show based off my animal showdown called Animal Face-Off. Someone on Discovery Channel probably heard me nagging my parents and got rich off of it!

There will be no chapters, sections, none of that kind of stuff. Remember I’m not writing your normal book. This book will just consist of a long list of why questions that will make you think twice about the world around you.

Why are There Flotation Devices Instead of Parachutes on Planes?

Nothing makes me feel ever more comfortable then listening to the flight attendant tell me that instead of putting the logical thing, a parachute, underneath me they placed floatation devices.

I’m sorry, but if the plane is going down, especially over non transcontinental flights, I would rather have a parachute instead of a raft. Heck, even if it was over the ocean or lakes, most people die during the impact so what the heck are the floatation devices going to do?

I had to think long and hard on this one, and after my meditation I actually agree with the airlines on this one. Here is my reasoning why:

I don’t know about you, but if the plane is going down I don’t want to be in the plane with a whole bunch of bumbling idiots who have 0 experience with parachutes to be jumping out one of the four exits. It would be like a clown plane with people bailing out, half of them not even deploying the parachute... and splat goes the clown.

Further proving my theory, due to the planes design it would suck people in that tried to jump out. If you were lucky enough to survive the engine trying to eat you there is a chance that you would suffocate due to the altitude. So pretty much if the plane is going down its not looking good, parachutes or no.

How Does the Guy Who Drives the Snow Plow Get to Work in Blizzards?

What kind of black magic did this person cast on their vehicles to make it to work when no one else is able to? Well luckily for me I had this riddle answered to me when I was young because one of
