Ever since childhood Keira had been an early riser. There was so much to do in a day, it was best to start that day as early as possible. Each morning her alarm went off at six a.m. She did not believe in the snooze button, but hit the alarm to silence it and rose immediately. Feet slid into slippers. She stretched her neck, tilting her head to the left then right, and rolled her shoulders back.

Keira was lucky enough to have secured an apartment on one of the top floors of her apartment block. It was a large open plan space with no curtains on her windows—an advantage of being high up was that privacy was guaranteed.
