About this ebook

Billionaire Nick Pacelli has wanted Isabella from the moment she was old enough to stir his passion. It's only her sweet and gentle innocence that had stopped him from chasing her.

Sheltered Isabella Lupton has loved Nick Pacelli from afar, sure that a man of his power and experience would never be interested in someone like her. After a failed kidnapping attempt leaves Isabella terrified, Nick whisks her away to his home on a private island where the two of them can be alone. With gentle caresses and a firm hand, Nick teaches Isabella that love doesn't have boundaries, and that sometimes absolute trust is the only way to discover the truth.

SNEAK PEEK!

Nick’s deep voice had lowered to a seductive rumble of sound. It made her shiver with awareness and she held back a curse when his sharp eyes seemed to catch the telling movement. What was going on? Was he flirting with her?
“It’s important that you know I’ll keep you safe, Belle. Now, I want to know if you meant what you said to me at the party.”
“I...” Isabella struggled to focus on earlier that night, everything after that was still kind of hazy. Perhaps she shouldn’t have had those extra drinks after all. But she did remember seeing Nick with his current girlfriend and hearing the news about his upcoming engagement.
She stiffened in her seat. “I’m not sure what you are talking about, but I’m hoping I wished you well and offered my congratulations.”
A small smile flickered on his perfect lips before he stretched his long legs out, bracketing her feet between his. She was mesmerized by the intensity in his electric blue eyes that seemed to see straight into her soul. What had she said to him that night? Licking her lips nervously, her brows furrowed as he groaned.
“You can’t do that to me.”
Confusion had her asking, “What?”
“Lick those pretty pink lips. It makes me want to lick them too.”
Isabella let out a gasp. “You...what?”
Nick sighed. “Clearly, there are some things we need to talk about. First of all, let me say that there is no need for congratulations. At least not concerning Victoria. Things are well over between us.”
“The three-week rule,” Isabella murmured before she could stop herself.
He frowned at her. “The what?”
She took a deep breath then braced herself as she looked him in the eye. “It’s the three-week rule. You always date whatever woman you are seeing for three weeks then switch to someone new. Victoria lasted three weeks and then some. No wonder she thought you were getting married.”
Nick’s frown deepened. “I had promised her that I would take her to that event, and I always keep my promises. But things have been over between us for a while now. You seem to know quite a bit about who I’ve been seeing, Belle.”
Isabella gave a careless shrug as if it meant nothing to her, but inside her heart pounded. “Everyone knows your tastes, Nick. It’s pretty well known you prefer tall, beautiful, blondes.”
Nick slowly shook his head, keeping his eyes on hers. “No, baby. I may have dated blondes, but I wouldn’t say they were what I prefer.”
She looked at him quizzically and let out a forced chuckle. “Really, Nick...how can you say that when all you do is date blondes? It’s like most of the women you’ve dated could be copies of one another.”
“Exactly. I dated them because they didn’t remind me of what I really wanted.”
Isabella’s heart thudded in her chest at that. She forced herself to ask the question. “What do you want, Nick?”
With quick movements, he deftly unbuckled his seatbelt then reached across the short distance and undid hers. Before she knew it she was sitting on his lap. “Nick!”
Isabella squirmed as she tried to free herself from his hold then froze as she felt the hard proof of his desire for her nestled between the globes of her ass. Her eyes flew to his. Shock filled her as she saw the hunger simmering there, making his eyes flame.
“I—I don’t understa

    Chapter One

    There he was.

Isabella Lupton looked across the crowded ballroom as if she could sense the very moment Nicholas Pacelli entered the room. Gulping down the champagne in her glass, she gratefully switched it for a full one as a waiter passed by. If she was going to go through with her plan tonight, she would need the liquid courage.

As the daughter of a multi-millionaire, Isabella had been born to privilege. From the outside world, she had the perfect life, living in a beautiful mansion, with anything she desired at her fingertips. But the simple truth was; she was a prisoner of sorts. Collateral damage of her father's success and the enemies that he had made.

She had lived a sheltered life, well aware of the dangers her father’s success might bring to their doorstep. It had been drummed into her every day of her life. She had endured the private schools, the strict curfews and even the hulking bodyguards that seemed to follow her every move each time she stepped out the front door. When she’d graduated from college she had looked forward to starting her life, only to have that light inside her extinguished when her father had informed her she would be taking her mother’s place as the representative for all the charity work her father’s company was involved in.

Isabella’s mother had died of cancer when she was in high school, and her father’s hold on her had tightened with the fear of losing her as well. It wasn’t that she hated her life, but a part of her felt as if it didn’t belong to her. Like it never had.

But that was all going to change…

Isabella’s heart began to pound as she watched Nick and his date move further into the room. She looked down, silently cursing herself for choosing a gown that matched the vibrant blue of Nick’s eyes. She was wearing a strapless, sheath dress that was simple, but with a dangerously low neckline that now had her feeling self-conscious rather than sexy. Her breath quickened as she thought about what it would feel like for him to take it off her.

She shouldn’t want him like this; crave him so much that just the sight of him had her fantasizing about his touch. He was just a man after all. No. Saying that Nick Pacelli was just a man to Isabella was a gross understatement. His hair was black as midnight, and he wore it with a careless elegance only a man of his stature could pull off.  He had strong, chiseled features and the face of a fallen angel, dangerous and brooding.

The low, sultry lighting in the
