“Ladies, I’d like to introduce you to Nick’s Isabella,” Marilyn said as they took their seats. “Isabella, this is Lena and Catherine.” She waved at a beautiful Asian woman and a stunning young blonde.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Isabella said before one of the male serves came over and smiled at them.
“Can I get you ladies something to drink?”
“Dirty martini, George. And you know I like it the dirtier the better,” Marilyn replied with a wink.
The waiter grinned back at her. “Of course.” He turned to Isabella.
“I think I’ll have a glass of champagne,” she said. He gave a slight bow then headed toward the bar.
“So, you’re Isabella. It’s nice to finally meet you,” Lena said. Isabella blinked at her in surprise, slightly taken aback that these women seemed to know her.
Marilyn smiled at her. “You must understand that it’s been a long standing joke that Nick won’t even look at anyone with brown hair because of his infatuation with you.”
Isabella felt her jaw drop open and she waited until their drinks were served and the waiter left until asking, “How do you—”
Marilyn waved a hand in the air. “I’ve been friends with Nick’s family for a long time. His father and I were very close. I’ve seen the way he has looked at you over the years and I knew it was just a matter of time until the two of you stopped being so stubborn and actually got together.”
“I didn’t...I mean, I never thought Nick looked at me as anything more than a friend until recently.”
Lena scoffed good-naturedly. “Please, any of us with dark hair couldn’t even get close to him because we reminded him of you. You’ve been his obsession for years...”

Chapter One

Isabella Lupton looked at herself in the mirror and studied the reflection looking back at her. In the course of only a week she had changed. Not so much her outside appearance, but it was as if the happiness she felt inside radiated out from within.

Since her arrival on the private island with Nick she had been more content than she’d ever been before. He had shown her a side of herself that she never knew she had, and she embraced the passion they shared together with an open heart.

She had dressed with care for this evenings venture out to the club. In a short, strapless bronze-ombre dress that started as gold at the top then deepened to a deep metallic brown at the hem, her tan was shown off perfectly. She had taken her time doing her make-up, going with smoky eyes and a shimmering gloss on her lips that made them look wet. Instead of arranging her hair as she normal would have with a dress like this, she’d chosen to leave her hair down because Nick loved to run his hands through the thick, luxurious length.

That afternoon as they had enjoyed a picnic lunch down on the beach, Nick had informed her that they had been invited to a party that evening. She had been instantly wary by the careful tone of his voice.

Why do I get the impression you don’t want to go? she’d asked.

Nick had sighed as he stroked his hand up and down her calf. It’s not that I don’t want to go with you… It’s at the club. Every Saturday night there is a gathering of sorts at the club whenever people are on the island. We have about half the residents here now and the Eric, the man who manages it, called to see if we would be coming.

Isabella had remained quiet as he studied her. Obviously, she had missed something. What is it, Nick? Why are you so worried I’m going to get upset?

Come here. Nick pulled her gently so she was seated between his thighs, her back resting against his chest as his arms wrapped around her. When she was settled he spoke again. The club is for members and guests, but members… If you go with me tonight there are going to be things you will see you may not understand.

She stiffened in his arms. Things like you touching someone else?
