Murder at Midnight

HAVE you heard about the Christmas ghost that haunts here?” Mel began.

“A ghost?” Kerry asked, as she sipped her coffee.

Kerry and her colleague Mel were on their break in the staff kitchen. “Ooh, I love a good ghost story. Tell me more.”

Kerry was a recent recruit, hired for the busy festive season at the popular department store.

She liked the work and was hoping the New Year would be off to a good start if a permanent job offer was made to her in January. Mel said she’d done really well, and the management team had taken to her, so her hopes were high.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the store was open 24/7, and they’d been placed on the late Christmas Eve shift, which ended around midnight.
