Introduction
I gave my first professional presentation on a sultry morning in St. Petersburg, Florida. I had the flu and was loaded up with medicine. I countered that with a gallon of coffee so I would stay awake. Colleagues said it was fine, but the memory of that talk, my nerves, and my negative self-talk instilled a powerful resistance to public speaking in the future!
Over the years I’ve grown to love sharing what I know in classes and public forums. There are too many people who don’t share because they are fearful. Then, when they have to talk,
they are unprepared. This book addresses both situations and gives some unusual and creative approaches to being the best communicator you can be.
