Easter has arrived in the magical kingdom. Sir Paddy, a handsome Westie Knight, and his friends are celebrating with an Easter Parade in the Sparkle Garden. I am married with 4 grown up kids, 3 granddaughters, and 2 grandsons. I was born in Surrey, and have lived in Derbyshire since 1980. I love animals and share the house with 3 westie girls Tilly, Daisy, and Holly, budgies and finches, and 2 tanks of tropical fish. I lost 2 westie girls in 2011, Rosie was nearly 17, and 5 months later Lily who was 15 and a half. I have always enjoyed writing, and particularly enjoyed writing ‘Paddy Stories’ which is in memory of Rosie and Lily, and my two friends westies Paddy and Alfie . It is a childrens book with the adventures of westies living in a magical kingdom. I have four books published - Paddy Stories, the second book ‘Paddy Stories – Magic of Christmas’, and the third book ‘Paddy Stories – Easter Parade’, the fourth book 'Paddy Stories - Summer Holiday' I am now working on 'Paddy Stories - Autumn Leaves' which I hope to publish in 2018. I have also been working on a trilogy of romantic novels. Book 1 is complete and I am working on book 2. Life is full and busy, and my writing is always a joy. After a chilly winter the warm sunshine shone on the garden where Sir Paddy and his friends live. Sir Paddy is a very handsome Westie Knight and with his good friend Commando Kit, an elite Special Forces snail, they keep the magical garden safe and happy. Sir Paddy and Commando Kit also share the garden with some special friends. There is Lancelot, Sir Paddy’s trusted steed, Danny the head snail, and the troop of snails, Andy Bear, Greg and Brian the magical unicorns, Sammy the beautiful butterfly, Kayleigh and Florence the magical nursing nightingale medical helpers, and Bobbie the ladybird. A very special person who also lives in the garden with them is Eos, Sir Paddy’s guardian angel, who lives in the tree house in the Great Oak. Last but not least are the five silly chicks who are Sir Paddy’s squires. They are always up to mischief keeping Commando Kit and Sir Paddy on their toes.

The silly chicks were excited because tomorrow they will be travelling to the Sparkle Garden. This is where the Westie girls Lady Rosie and Lady Lily live with their guardian fairy Sunrise. Now there were a few new tenants who now live in the Sparkle Garden, Sir Alfie another Westie Knight with his steed Alfonso, and Commando Boot another elite Special Forces snail. His head snail was called Geoff, who was very good at making things with his troop. The five new squires had moved in at the beginning of the New Year. It was now the end of March so they had all settled in.

What do you think these new chicks are like? asked Sparks to the other silly chicks.

Well – there was a pause then Chirpy the leader tilted his head. They are probably not as clever and, and, – well groomed as us.

All the silly chicks laughed together, and Fluffy being Fluffy fell over. Of course this made the rest of the silly chicks (Chirpy, Sparks, Cluck and Beaky) laugh again.

I think our float will be the best, boasted Beaky.

All the silly chicks agreed and started to sing ‘In your Easter Bonnet, and all the frills upon it…’ and dance around the garden.

The Sparkle Garden had been very busy this past month. Sir Alfie’s chicks with the help of Geoff the head snail had done a splendid job of the float.

Look Lily the float will look amazing in the parade tomorrow. Lady Rosie put her paws to her mouth in excitement.

Oh Rosie, it will be so exciting to see Sir Paddy again, we had had such wonderful weather recently. It has been so wonderful to have Sir Alfie and Commando Boot here, replied Lady Lily. The girls heard Sir Alfie’s chicks singing ‘In your Easter Bonnet, and all the frills upon it’ and made their way over to join them. Sunrise, Sir Alfie, Commando Boot, Geoff, and the troop of snails were already there enjoying the toasted crumpets made by the chicks.

There you are girls, where have you been? asked Sunrise.

The girls explained they had been looking at the wonderful float.

Those silly chicks are going to have a surprise when they arrive tomorrow, laughed Sunrise.

Yes they are, and especially when they meet my chicks, chuckled Sir Alfie.

After a peaceful night it was a beautiful morning for the trip to the Sparkle Garden today and everyone was ready and waiting to board the coach, which Commando Kit would be driving. Last night, before retiring to bed, Sir Paddy had announced that Sir Alfie had invited everyone to stay the night. Tents had been erected for the silly chicks and Andy Bear. The unicorns and Lancelot will be staying in Alfonso’s stable. Commando Kit will share with Commando Boot, and of course Sir Paddy will share with his friend Sir Alfie. Sammy, Bobbie,
