Amy tried to focus. She was so sleepy her fingers and toes tingled.

I shouldn't have stayed up all night on a week night, she said, glancing across the room at her boss. At least it's almost time to go home.

Eric had his back to her, concentrating on whatever he saw under the microscope. He was young for his position in the company, but then he was one of three founders. The fact he was quite handsome didn't hurt.

Shame he's such a prick, she thought, turning back to her task.

Amy was Eric's lab assistant. His current project was to create a drug that helped new mothers with a problem providing enough milk for their newborns. Amy was a little squeamish about the whole idea of a living being feeding off of her boobs, so planned to feed any children she had with formula. No breastfeeding for her.

Oops, she said, her baby blue eyes starting to close and hands relaxing. Once again she dropped the applicator. She tossed long brown hair back over her shoulder and took a deep breath. Concentrate girl.
