The pretty blonde stopped before the bulletin board and worried her lip as her bright blue eyes scanned it for job opportunities. Sometimes employers eager to help college students posted exclusive jobs there in the student union.

Christie signed gustily. It was so unfair. She had a good part-time job and lost it because she dated the boss's son. Derek swore he was single. He didn't wear a ring. None of it mattered. The boss fired her, and refused to think his sainted son would do anything untoward, much less eagerly cheat on his wife.

Nothing? Really? she said, on the verge of tears. If she didn't at least have a job by the end of the week, her mean roommates were going to kick her out. It's just not fair. I try to be a good…oh, what's that?

The paper was kinda dark and pinned high and to one side. It was the standard flyer, with the opportunity in large text, and the phone number to contact in strips along the bottom. So far only one contact strip was torn off, so it must be new.

Oh, they need a woman for a research study of a new drug, she read, screwing up her face. I'll probably end up with a third eye, or a tail, if I did…hey, it pays that much?

One thousand a month was as much as her lost job. Plus they pay one hundred percent of her medical for the duration. It was for a full year, too. It was perfect! Only, it didn't say what exactly what drug they would be testing on her. That was a little worrisome.

I guess I could check it out, she muttered, and tore off a contact strip. There was a familiar name on it. Hello, Professor Heartthrob!
