Where Miracles Live - Kevin Lyn Brockway
Reading:
There is a place in God, a state of being, where the supernatural becomes natural, the miraculous becomes the norm, and healings are instantaneous. It’s the place where hope becomes expectation, and where fear, doubt, worry, and unbelief simply do not exist. I lived in this place for a time but somehow let it slip away, being distracted by the cares of this life. This book is the result of my seeking and asking God, How did I ever leave this place, and how did I get there in the first place?
I finally came to realize, the miracles never stopped. I was just no longer in the place where I could see them. My vision had become clouded. I had become too busy with the cares of this life. The manifestation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the healings and all the other supernatural experiences I’m about to share with you are still happening, right now, all around us, all over the world.
The visions, miracles and supernatural experiences I’m going to share with you are examples of the power of God being manifested in our lives and in the times we live today. These manifestations of God’s power and His presence are critical to the work of the ministry and should be a part of our daily lives as believers.
Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father
.
Mark 16:20 - And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.
Are we doing the works that Jesus did? What about the greater works? I pray as you continue to read that your heart will be opened and your spirit filled with a desire to experience the full power of God in your life.
It is of absolute necessity that believers walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. This generation is addicted to distraction and it will take the manifested miracles that Jesus performed and the greater works
to get their attention.
God is truly no respecter of persons, but in every generation, He uses whom He chooses to perform His will on the Earth and to get His message across. He only needs a willing heart and childlike faith.
Manifestations of the Power of God: Miracles, Angels, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit:
I want to give you a brief explanation of the miracles, working of Angels, the manifestation of the power of God, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is by no means a complete teaching on any of these subjects, but hopefully enough to give you a basic understanding of what I’m talking about when you read the stories to come and give you a desire to learn more.
The Baptism, or Infilling of the Holy Ghost:
Jesus said to the disciples after He was risen, just before He ascended into Heaven, And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high
. (Luke 24:49)
The Apostle Peter quoted the prophet Joel on the day of Pentecost when the Gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on them who waited in the upper room; Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams
.
All through the book of the Acts of the Apostles, every time there was a move of God where a group of people became believers, they received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Acts 10:44-47 - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Act 19:1-6 - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
In every example of people receiving the Holy Spirit there was the evidence of speaking in other tongues. This is your personal prayer language and not one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Paul says in 1st Corinthians 14:14-15 – For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
This speaking in tongues is praying in the Spirit which builds you up and strengthens your faith. 1st Corinthians 14:4 – He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself. Jude 1:20 - But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
It’s important to remember that speaking in tongues
is praying in the Holy Ghost. The words come from the Holy Spirit
