    Purple Pages - Rosa Christian

    An Old Story

    The lecherous wind shivers with excitement

    as he lifts the virgin forest’s skirt.

    His hands pulling roughly at her top

    he listens to her sighed response,

    while she sways to his sensuous touch.

    He smells her full, fertile mustiness,

    as he accesses her hidden, private paths;

    Touching where none have touched before.

    She dresses in her gold and red best.

    His breath rasps and whistles, as he has his way.

    Slowly he withdraws, whispering that he'll be back.

    She is left naked under Winter's harsh glare;

    Starkly bereft, no modesty allowed;

    So even he, in this his iciest of moods,

    Skin shivers in delighted response;

    Heart skips, thuds, then races away;

    Lips smile and part on a sigh;

    Eyelids lift lazily revealing smoky orbs;

    Muscles tense, quiver, waiting breathlessly,

    ‘Come,’ you say, ‘Come and be mine.’

    I turn languidly into waiting arms;

    Reaching up to draw you willing down;

    Urging you to continue the love dance;

    Arching, my soft against your hard;

    Galloping headlong together into sweet oblivion;

    Exploding, sweating, sighing at journey's end;

    Drifting slowly down, as our world calms.

    Younger Man

    He was a younger man.

    I was more than old enough

    to know better.

    Laughter brought us together.

    He was tall and slim,

    had a certain air about him.

    Every woman there was aware

    of his strong, bare arms,

    his easy charms.

    We had little in common,

    our eyes met and locked,

    I couldn’t
