The Unrequied LIFE: A Poem Book
What is to Be
Born from forlorn, destined for life with regret.
Troubled, invisible to all who saw her worth.
Shuttled in vision but loved by the Holy Spirit.
What happens in a life fallen pass faith?
Cough Drop
Sore and scratchy throat.
Constricting in my sickness.
I browse the aisles as my head bows in a cough.
This is what I have become a patient,
I sneeze and heave a heavy breath.
I finally see what I am looking for.
I open the small bag, having broken the wrapper.
Relief comes quickly as my throat is soothed.
I have proved no doctors and nurses were needed.
No hospitals or crowded offices, after all it’s only a cold.
Cats and Dogs
A pet, that was all I wanted, as a young girl.
A pet!
I repeated, often to my parent’s distress.
It will come, when rain falls.
They would reply.
I waited, waited for the rain.
I was met, with sunny skies, and hot summer heat.
I
