An Old Story
The lecherous wind shivers with excitement,
as he lifts the virgin forest’s skirt,
his hands pulling roughly at her top,
he listens to her sighed response,
while she sways to his sensuous touch.
He smells her full, fertile mustiness,
as he accesses her hidden, private paths,
touching where none have touched before,
she divests herself of her golden dress,
his breath rasps and whistles, as he has his way,
slowly he withdraws whispering that he’ll be back,
she is left naked under winter’s harsh glare,
starkly bereft, no modesty allowed,
so even he, in this his iciest of moods,
covers her with a soft, white blanket.
The Desert Speaks
Empty?! Dead?! How dare you?!
Have you no eyes to see, nor ears to hear?
Can you not see the life in me?
Can you not hear
