I See the Skies As Grey and Not Blue
()
About this ebook
Embark on a journey with me through the inner emotions of my soul by reading my poetry book I see the skies as grey and not Blue. These collections of poems are a bit dark and disturbing but express a vivid recollection of what is going through my mind. I chose the title because I myself struggle with mental illness and those with mental illness tend to have a different perspective on life and life's experiences.

I See the Skies As Grey and Not Blue - Allen Montelongo
Chapter 1
The Warmth of the She-Moon
The moon lady is at my window,
She is giving me that warm, touching smile.
Then, she disappears without a trace.
However, she went creeping through the air over these house roofs.
She is so gentle towards humanity,
Now she must change into the full moon!
She always promises to visit me at my window again,
With such sincerity, she calms my ailing moods.
As each night she puts me to sleep again,
The next day I wish the sun to turn into the moon.
She looks upon me so graciously,
I know for sure our souls are alike.
We are always together despite the weather,
I am all hers, for she is my own she-moon.
Shadows Want
Through destiny, humanity falters.
Anger begets hate, hate begets hate—
Newfound sorrows of mystery
Through the fury of the Gods.
O thy servant, awake to false Nirvana,
O thy follower, partake of the blood sacrament,
O thy face-painted devious devil,
O thou vile, wretched, smothering abyss,
O thy cursed creature of the damned,
O thy closed, vacant heart,
O weeping willow without a soul,
Search for me without flesh,
Search for my lonesome destiny.
Help me see what the shadows want.
Ignite the fire that resides inside me.
Let me see beyond the shadows that surround me.
Simple Tree
See the stars and moon
Hanging upon the night sky.
Still, the heavens lie
And we do not know.
O thy night owl, deliver me thy oracle,
O thy white-robed wizard, turn me into a tree
As punishment for my past transgressions.
O thy heartless, had without a heart,
O thy brood, sucking the life out of me,
O thy robber, snapping all of my limbs,
Laughing at me as they cut me down.
No salvation, no afterlife for me,
All I was, was a simple tree.
Three Reflections
What can one say when reading the Devil’s
Book of resurrecting souls, what choice
Does one have, when all that is left
Is their own humanity
