Introduction
I wrote this book with you in mind. You are single Christian women who desire a closer walk with God, and are ready to embark on a journey; I call, Dating on Purpose. This book was written for different types of single women—singles with no kids, single mothers, seasoned singles, divorcees, and widowed women who have healed and are ready to date again. This book is for all of you!
This work is not a Walk Ye, this is the Only Way
manual. Instead, it is a guide that depicts and explains Christian living as a single woman, and offers dating nuggets that will help along the way. For instance, some ladies may already be dating, and are interested in understanding the metrics of compatibility, or whether or not to move their relationship to the next level. Other women may struggle with holes in the soul, that cause a repetitious cycle of unhealthy dating, and they want answers on how to escape. There is something here for everyone.
In this book, I express my authentic journey as a single woman. I share my trials and errors, in hopes, that this helps to successfully progress your dating journey. Not only will this book help prepare you to Date on Purpose, it provides tips for restoring the real you. Get ready because we are going in deep. You will be stretched in your mind, challenged in your heart and encouraged to come to terms with internal demons. Together we will laugh, cry and nod our heads in agreement. And most of all, we will finally triumph over fear together.
Single Women Unite!
Writing this book is my way of welcoming you into my world, my thoughts, and my life lessons as a single Christian woman. Please join me, grab a glass of Moscato (or fruit juice) and find a comfortable spot on the sofa. We are going to have the time of our lives. Let’s begin.

I can still remember the overwhelming joy I felt, and how nervous I was when I said, I do
to God’s proposal for my hand in marriage. My first marriage was not in a big church, standing in a beautiful white gown, with love ones watching. Instead, God and I eloped. He and I—two lovers—were the only individuals present for the ceremony. It was paradise.
My living room was beautifully decorated with an indescribable presence. A heavenly choir of angelic singers serenaded us in the background. It would have taken your breath away. I can still remember hearing the vibration of love coming from God’s voice as we exchanged our secret vows of commitment and love. The more He spoke His love to me, the more I cried uncontrollably. Now that I think about it, I’m glad that I didn’t have on makeup that day because I would have been a sore sight to see. When I finally pulled myself together, grabbed my last piece of tissue, and dried the remaining tears from my eyes, the Lord reached out for my hand and gently slid the ring of holiness back onto my finger—pronouncing me as His lovely wife.
That was four years ago when I made that holy covenant with God. I made a vow to the Lord that I would not partake in premarital sex of any kind again. I would wait until I was married to the man of His choice. To say that this decision was a walk in the park would be a major understatement, but to tell you that it was pure hell would definitely be an overstatement. It was not easy, but doable. With the Lord’s help guiding me through, I overcame many nights of sexual withdrawals, and adult temper tantrums. It was God’s grace and mercy that kept me from relapsing.
Over time, I grew to value my love for God more than a quick meaningless sexual fix. The palate of my emotions began to change its cravings. My longing for sex decreased, and I craved more of God’s limitless love and intimacy. Prayer helped me through the rough patches of life, and grew me closer to God while I continued to mature in holiness.
Holiness, I’m learning, takes a lifetime to perfect. I had to allow God to develop me through this process of life. Like a diamond in the rough, He mined and polished my purity’s potential. If you can relate to what I am saying or may have made the mistake of crawling back into bed with someone, I want you to know that the Lord forgives you. Now forgive yourself and let it go. Don’t you dare live under condemnation any longer! Just pull back the covers, get dressed, and decide in your mind and heart that this will be the last time I have sex (of any kind) with an individual who is not my husband.
Get up woman and brush yourself off because it is
