About this ebook
"Party of One" focuses on the wisdom gained from one woman's journey to find acceptance and peace while living life as a single Christian. As a single Christian, life can be frustrating, worrisome, and confusing when we do not understand how God desires to work in our lives to fulfill His purposes while we are single.
The foundational principle of this book is that responding to being single in negative ways shows that we are ill-prepared for godly relationships, much less godly marriages. Learning how to live the 'single life' the way GOD intends brings peace and contentment because life is not "put on hold" while waiting for that special someone. What we learn here is that God has a life full of purpose, joy, grace, and love in store for everyone - to include single Christian women AND men.
The principles penned in this book are biblically-based and communicated humbly from the author's own experiences and faith journey. With conviction, she speaks as one who has "been there, done that".
When diligently and prayerfully practiced, the insights shared will help single Christians avoid the pitfalls of being a Christian single in a secular world.

Foreword
Being single and Christian in our secular society can be difficult and quite challenging at times. We struggle with what to do while waiting on God to bless us with a mate. Therein lies the crux of the problem: What are we, as singles, to do while we wait on God for a mate?
Loraine Bedford has been anointed by God to share His wisdom with singles concerning that vitally important question. Party of One deals with the wisdom gained from her journey to find acceptance and peace while living as a single Christian. Living as a single Christian can be frustrating, worrisome, and confusing when we do not understand how to live as one and do not fully comprehend how God desires to work in our lives to fulfill His purposes while we are single.
The foundational principle of this book is that responding to being single with frustration, worry, and confusion shows that we are ill-prepared for godly relationships, much less godly marriages. Being single the way God intends actually helps prepare us for godly relationships and godly marriages. Learning how to be single the way God intends also brings peace and contentment because life is not put on hold
while waiting for that special someone. What we learn here is that God has a life full of purpose, joy, grace, and love in store for us as single Christians. The principles given in this book are biblically-based and communicated humbly from Ms. Bedford's own experience and faith journey.
When I met Ms. Bedford and as we developed a friendship, I noticed something different about her as a single Christian. She was confident, content, and enjoyed the life God had blessed her with as a single. She lived a life of meaning and purpose, knowing that God was working in her life. As she shared her story, I began to see some areas in my own life where I could have done things differently and even better as a single Christian. One thing I love about God, though, is that He gives us the grace we need to change! Ms. Bedford was quick to let me know she had not always been that confident and content person I had met and gotten to know. It took some time, faith, prayers, and tears to get to the place where God wanted her to be.
That is why God has given her the vision for Party of One; to help Christian singles avoid some of the pitfalls, dangers, and traps that will hinder them from finding peace and acceptance as singles. It is also to help give purpose and meaning to living life as singles. When one has reached that place, it is then that they are ready for a godly relationship that leads to a godly marriage. I know…because Ms. Bedford is now my fiancée! The principles learned and practiced in Party of One have greatly enhanced our relationship, and we are looking forward to God continuing to give us meaning and purpose in a great marriage.
Being single and Christian does not have to be sad, sorrowful, or one big pity-party. Remember Jeremiah 19:11. God has great things in store for you!

Introduction
It was on a Sunday after church service. I was hungry and decided to drive to Conyers (an Atlanta suburb) to get breakfast at Cracker Barrel Restaurant. The restaurant is typically very busy on Sunday mornings. That morning was no different. I had to wait at least 30 minutes before being seated. While waiting, I decided to look around in the restaurant's gift shop. As I was browsing, I heard something that caught my attention, and for the next 30 minutes, I carefully observed what was actually going on around me.
Thompson! Party of five
, the hostess shouted over the microphone. A family of five stepped up to the podium and was escorted to their table. A few minutes later, Flowers! Party of seven.
Up stepped a party of seven. I especially observed the father, mother, grandmother, three teenagers, and
