    Chapter 1

Bounding down his stairwell, the Professor saw his living room and kitchen both empty, but the light at the end of the hall showed him someone else was in his house.

As he got to the door, a familiar scent washed over him and the rose petals being strewn over his sheets confirmed his suspicions.

What in the fuck are you doing here, Celeste? he howled. The older woman jumped in her task and turned to face Professor Areleon, a defiant look in her hard green eyes.

You scared me, Damien, the older woman cooed, sidling up to the angry Professor. I wasn’t expecting you for another hour or so. What are you doing home so early? she asked, putting a hand on her yellow silk clad hip.

"You are trespassing in my home, and you DARE ask me why I’m home so early?" he shouted, the words reverberating through his bedroom and probably through the entire house, if not the neighbor’s house, too.

You have a hide-a-key, Damien, she rolled her eyes as if his anger was out of proportion to her actions. And you told me when you’d be home tonight. It’s like you were sending me an invitation to greet you when you arrived.

"You know what I didn’t give you, Celeste? he asked, ice dripping from his words, barely suppressing the desire to pin her to the wall by her throat. An actual fucking invitation!"

There seems to be a part of you that’s excited to see me, she looked at his cock, still erect in its cloth confinement. Boldly, she reached for it, her knuckles just grazing it as he jumped out of reach.

Don’t, he scolded, extending his arm to keep her at bay, "THAT, he started, pointedly looking down at himself, is NOT for you."

It’s for me, a strong voice said from just behind his back, her eyes now peeking over his shoulder, as if to hide her identity from their guest. A quick glance back to the benefactress showed disbelief and a twinge of anger in her features.

Well, I’m Celeste Carrington, she quickly recovered, holding her hand out to Sabrina. Damien and I became acquainted a few months back, and you are? she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Sabrina’s tiny hand shot out from behind the Professor’s back and latched with the woman, standing in his bedroom, unmistakably dressed in lingerie. I’m Bethany Hayward and Damien’s girlfriend as of a week ago, she introduced herself, to his astonishment, using what he thought was a pseudonym to hide her identity as a student from Celeste. However, when the older woman stiffened at the name Sabrina threw out, Damien was puzzled.

Oh, Celeste pulled her hand back, visibly shaken by the introduction. Of the Middlebury Park Haywards? she whispered, astonished.

The same, Sabrina confirmed, only serving to confuse the Professor more, but his submissive’s words had Celeste dressing and heading for the door in a hurry.

I’m so sorry for the intrusion, Damien. I will be out of your way, but if anything changes. Let me know, Celeste said. We are still on for the Christmas party though, don’t forget, she reminded, seemingly trying to exert some kind of control over the situation before slipping out of his bedroom again.

Schooling his features, he turned to face his student. Her eyes were downcast, her hands fidgeting with the belt on her robe. After he heard the front door slam shut and a car drive away from his house, he grabbed her chin, roughly and forced her eyes to his. Explain yourself.

I’m sorry I let myself out of your binding, Sir, she whispered.

This isn’t about that, he hissed. The fail-safe in the knots is there for a reason. I wouldn’t just leave you bound helpless upstairs with someone in my house if I didn’t think you could free yourself. That would make me a terrible Dom, Sabrina. I’m talking about that exchange with Celeste.

I was just trying to make it clear you were mine, and off limits, Sabrina tried to look down again, but Damien held her firm, forcing their continued eye contact.

And how did you achieve that, Sabrina? he asked, his voice conveying a total lack of emotion. He knew she was holding something back from him, and a lie of omission is still a lie. Was their whole relationship built on a lie? And something as painfully simple as who Sabrina really was?

By using my family name, she said, having the decency to look contrite over the huge bomb she’d just detonated in his bedroom.

So it’s true? You really are Bethany Hayward? he asked, backing away from her as if he’d been burned.

Yes, Professor, she whispered. But it doesn’t change anything, I’m still the girl I was twenty minutes ago, the one that you had tied to a pole, she said, almost desperately, but she held her position, not trying to reach for him.

No, he shook his head. You will not call me Professor for this exchange, you’ve lost that right, Sabrina, or do you prefer Beth? he asked, letting his ire at her admission ring out in his words. How could he be so stupid? He was really starting to feel something for this girl, and now he was finding out that it might all be a game to her.

Sabrina, she confirmed, chewing on her lip, her pale brown eyes shining with unshed tears. He could tell that she really felt something for him and wanted this to work out, but he pushed it down. Caroline had made promises and declarations of faith to him at one time, too, but he’d felt more for Sabrina in a week than he ever had for Caroline. Making this exchange so much more painful than he could’ve imagined.

You’ve just shattered the one thing you know is absolutely paramount to our continued relationship, Sabrina, Damien scolded, trying to rein himself in again.

But, I didn’t, she shook her head. I am Sabrina Carson, everything I told you about myself is true. I just omitted the fact that I use my middle name and my mother’s maiden name at school and, well, the fact that I come from a wealthy family.

Why? It would seem that the Hayward name would help you.

That’s the problem, she said, starting to pace. The Hayward name has so many expectations attached to it. I mean, what’s the name of the lecture hall where I take your class? she asked, rhetorically, finally raising her eyes to his again. He could feel her yearning, but, still, he resisted. I thought about just going by the name my freshman year and becoming established as a hardworking, good student on my own merit. My parents approved of it, even though they weren’t completely happy.
