    Tonight was the night. It was finally Friday, the day of Rob’s company ball. I had a stack of paperwork sitting behind me on my desk, but once again, I was unable to concentrate on it. Looking out the window of my eighth floor office, I passed the time watching people in the park below.

    My thoughts were constantly on what would happen that evening. Would Rob give me more of what I craved so much? What if it was a one-time thing?

    Just then I heard the handle of my office door come unlatched. I spun my chair around to face whoever was entering. It was Dave, my boss.

    Rebecca, can I have a moment?

    He came in and shut the door behind him. Uh oh.

    Uh, sure, I said as I pulled my chair up to my desk. Dave took the seat opposite me.

    I didn’t really want to have this conversation with you since you’re usually such a fantastic person to work with, he started. But I’ve been noticing a lot of paperwork piling up on your desk. Is everything all right?
