Mareck held back the uncertainty he felt as he scrawled his signature onto the last pages of the contract spread out on the desk before him. His uncertainty stemmed from his general lack of knowledge about what he was getting himself into. Unlike most people who entered the harems, he had no family to turn to for guidance and he didn’t personally know any harem workers. His Aunt Erecka was the only mother he had known since his fifth year, but it had not taken him long to realize his mother’s twin sister would never be a mother to him.
