Secrets for Stopping Bullying: Book 1 - Secret Signs
By William Ford

About this ebook
A must have book, easy to understand. Designed with the high school reader in mind and parents of bullied children (helping them to understand what the bullied person is going through) - Book 1 deals with bullying prior to physical aggression. It outlines to the innocent, the things which attract bullies and make certain people the target of bullying (both individually and socially). The book then outlines a number of solutions that a bullied individual can employ to minimize the problem.
This book deals with the precursors to bullying, being those things which we term "awareness". Here we outline in detail things an individual can do to minimize contact with bullies in the first place. Book 1 concludes by dealing with verbal solutions which may be employed to minimize/avoid bullying.

I have trained in a number of martial arts disciplines for the past 51 years attaining the rank of 12Th DAN in Chen Do. Whilst this has been most beneficial to me in my careers (which included law enforcement and security), I also saw that violence was never the answer. After many years of instructing others in these styles I saw the need for a passive approach to social aggression [bullying] It has long been one of my life's aim to devise a non-violent solution, which allows the intended victim to protect themselves, without resorting to the traditional violent responses in most forms of 'self defense'. This book and the next two in the series are the natural progression in helping our young people cope with an evermore complicated social environment without violent responses.

Chapter 1 - Introduction
Welcome to the first anti-bullying and anti-violence handbook.
This book is designed as a guide, for use by those individuals who find themselves being bullied, or for those in authority, charged with their well-being.
For bullying to be successful, there must be a physical outcome. (You will be ‘bashed up’ – secrets may be threatened to be exposed - someone you love may be threatened ...etc...).
Mostly bullying is about confidence, or rather, lack of it, brought about by fear.
Most serious schoolyard bullying turns to violence.
This includes cyber
bullying
Those with little or no confidence are often the subject of bullying.
So begins a vicious circle:
I am being bullied.
I need to be confident (or show confidence).
I am afraid.
Therefore I show in my body language, responses and actions that I lack confidence.
So I am bullied (possibly even more) and the cycle continues to spiral.

Verbal Conflict Management
Whilst there may be some slight variables with ‘Verbal Conflict Management’, the verbal section will apply almost equally to students/staff and teachers/supervisors.
Book 2 contains the Passive Power System – simple Non Violent physical responses which may be used, if verbal conflict suddenly escalates and becomes physical. Passive Power Non Violent physical responses develop instant CONFIDENCE in the individual and break the fear
cycle.
The photos in this book use adults, but almost anyone can perform the moves. Certainly anyone of high school age or above will find them easy to do.

Chapter 2 - The Science of Bullying
Bullying is about power and control.
Mainly it involves someone’s perception of another person.
Bullies are threatened by differences in others, which they are unable to accept.
For bullying to be successful, there must be a physical outcome of a threat, or perceived threat by the victim. It can be at school, in the workplace, or anywhere.
For example, if I have a fear I will be
