    When he updated the damn thing, Reed said it'd be easy to use. He lied. I should have known. Computers never have been my friend, and neither has Reed.

    He said the reason all my spreadsheets disappeared was because of a glitch in the operating system upgrade. Whatever. I may not be the most techno-savvy person, but I knew that little I.T. prick did something to my work. I didn't have proof or anything; I just knew. I'd even asked him to give me ten minutes to back up all my files before he messed with my computer, but he'd said it was an urgent update that needed to be done immediately and that nothing would be lost. Yeah, right.

    Funny how it also dumped my files right off the company server, and how it only happened to me.

    Because of him, I'd had to work overtime at the office every night for three weeks in a row just to catch up. The fact that I felt like an idiot trying to learn the new operating system on top of some new company software didn't help matters. Menus and settings that I'd been using for years all of a sudden weren't where they should be. For Christ's sake, a person shouldn't have to Google just to figure out something as simple as how to add a border to a group of cells or how to hyperlink within a document! Relearning the basics just plain sucked.

    I sighed and smashed my forehead into the keyboard.

    Here, let me help you with that, I heard from behind me.

    The undignified, high-pitched yelp that I emitted then embarrassed me, but not as much as the fact that it was my boss who'd just witnessed my ineptitude.
