I slid my back down the wall until I felt the rumpled fabric in my hand. I stepped out of it and rose with it draped from my limp fingers.

Jackson held out his hand for it and I gave it to him. He folded it with care, placed it on the desk behind him, and then turned back to me. He eyed me up and down, evaluating the man standing before him. I was supposed to be the authority figure, but how fast the tables had turned.
