Predictable and boring. This book, like the first in the series actually made me feel like I was watching combinations of movies that have been out for quite some time. Very little felt original or even close to realistic. Also, the book research was obviously not completed. Experts should be consulted for things like medical allergies that weren’t portrayed even somewhat correctly, but were critical to the storyline. I wasn’t super impressed with the first book, but completely disappointed by the second.

Easy summer book. 3 criticisms:
1. This plot was more predictable and less developed than the first book. Didn’t love that.
2. Medically inaccurate. Severe peanut allergies are never treated with an inhaler. I understand why an inhaler fit the plot better than an epipen, but as someone in medicine I cringed at this detail.
3. The Latina maid’s features were described as “exotic”. Not the best term to describe people. Goods and animals are exotic. Could’ve simply said “her beautiful Latina features” conveying the same point.

The Perfect Block by Blake Pierce is the second book in the Jessie Hunt series and is absolutely brilliant, full of secrets and unexpected twists!

As this is the second book there are some things you know because of book one so if you didn't read book one, don't read this review!

In this book is interesting to follow Jessie's journey after escaping her psycho husband. She moves back to downtown LA and lands a job with the local police department as a trainee profiler. Nothing could prepare her for her first case as nothing was straight forward as she expected.
Jessie's past is still catching up with her and you just can't turn pages quickly enough to find out what is going on.
