About this audiobook

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

Casey has never met her father. She doesn’t know his identity or where he lives or whether he has children. She’s spent the past three years nursing her critically ill mother, watching cancer eat away her organs and their bank account. Upon her death, her mother leaves Casey a letter with clues about her mysterious father. With nothing left for her in New York, Casey packs her meager belongings in her mother’s old convertible and heads off in search of Daniel Love.

Casey finds the Virginia mountains charming and the small town of Lovely quaint. Needing time before she approaches her father, Casey accepts a job as graphic designer with Foxtail Farm. She soon learns the vineyard’s owner is at war with the Love children. When Casey meets her half siblings, she understands why.

Daniel and Casey hit it off from the start. She reminds him of her mother, the true love of his life. But Casey’s new brothers and sister want nothing to do with her. How far will they go to protect the family’s dynasty?

Ashley Farley

Ashley Farley is the bestselling author of the Sweeney Sisters series as well as the stand-alone novels Sweet Tea Tuesdays, Magnolia Nights, Beyond the Garden, and other books about women for women. Her characters are mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives facing real-life situations, and her goal is to keep readers turning pages with stories that resonate long after the last word. In addition to writing, she is an amateur photographer, an exercise junkie, and a wife and mother. While she has lived in Richmond, Virginia, for more than two decades, part of her heart remains in the salty marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry where she grew up. Through the eyes of her characters, she captures the moss-draped trees, delectable cuisine, and kindhearted folks with lazy drawls that make the area so unique. It's always fun to start a new series by Ashley Farley. Love Child is book one in her new series. Most of the characters are new to her readers but she brings Ollie and Fiona from the Hope Springs series into this book which felt like meeting new friends while you catch up with old friends.Casey Hobbs has just lost her mother after three years of cancer. Casey and her mom were best friends and Casey never really missed not knowing who her father was. Her mom left a letter for her to read after her death which gave Casey clues about her father. She had nothing left to keep her in New York City so she packed her belongings into her car and heads to Virginia to find out more about her family. Her father owns a vineyard, has three children and none of them know she exists. She decides to learn more about her father before she meets him and takes a job at Foxtail Farm, a boutique winery located next door to the winery owned by her father and family. She quickly finds out that there is no love lost between the owner of Foxtail Farms and the Love family. There has been an ongoing war of intimidation from them because she refuses to sell her farm to the Love sons. She meets her father at the opening of Foxtail Farms and he knows who she is immediately because she looks so much like her mother. He accepts her as his daughter immediately even though her existence was a big surprise to him. Two of his three children are shocked at their father having a love child and start to do everything they can to chase her away from their family and their vineyard. Will Casey be able to stay strong and get to know her father better or will her half-siblings manage to get rid of her? I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out more about Casey and her new family. You can always depend on an Ashley Farley book. She's one of my go-to authors when I need a good story with a happily ever after ending. Her characters are always well written and feel like people I know and her books are just plain fun. Thanks to the author for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.
