This is my second book by Biba Pearce, and I enjoy her stories for the most part. My biggest issue with this one was Miller's repeated and obvious disdain for sex workers. The 'how could any woman lower herself to this' trope got real old. It would have been a great opportunity for the author to have his female colleagues educate him on slut-shaming. Our society forgets that for every woman out prostituting herself, there are a hundred men keeping her in business. Women have to be in a pretty tough place to choose sex work as an income, and the women in this book were doing their best to survive and provide something for their children or families.
