About this audiobook

When Finch saves the life of a nameless mobster one fateful night, he has no idea it will come back to haunt him five years later.

Luca D'Amato is a ruthless killer, feared and respected by all who know him. But when he discovers that his next target is the man who once saved his life, he can't bring himself to go through with the hit. Instead, Luca pleads with his Boss to spare Finch's life - to take him as a hostage instead.

To keep Finch safe, Luca agrees to marry him, but finds his feelings for Finch run deeper than he ever thought possible.

But in a world where love is a weakness that can get them both killed, Luca knows he must keep his emotions in check.

Finch can't help but feel drawn to Luca. Yet every time he tries to get closer, Luca pulls away. But Finch is no quitter.

Can Luca protect Finch from the dangers of his world, or will love lead them both to ruin?

This book exceeded my expectations. Terrific main, characters, complex, well thought out storyline. I was literally surprised. I didn’t know what was coming next. I highly recommend this book super narration read.

I wanted a good MM Mafia Romance and this book had potential. Unfortunately it was mostly wasted! The beginning and the ending were fine-even good-but the middle was dragging too much. There was also too much sex. Look, I love me a good sex scene BUT WITH a good plot, an endearing plot, an interesting plot... In a word: a plot! The plot was there in the beginning and ending but was kind of forgotten in the middle of the story where the barest, the thinnest connecting thread plot served as a backdrop for the main characters to have sex again and again and again. It was not only the numerous sex scenes that bothered me but also their lack of emotion/connection. I didn't feel the emotions between the characters nor the romance in their intimate moments. So I got bored and it quickly got tiresome.
To sum up, the book was a mixed bag.

Narration on this series is excellent! I am not a huge mafia fan, but this was well done, and everyone looking for fresh voice should listen to this author/narrator paring.
It took me a few chapters to really start to love the MCs. They both develop and grow together throughout book 1 and 2. The romance is lovely, and spice is spicy.
