Mhwah, it was nog bad but just a bit boring , way too long and The heroine was plain stupid.

First up, I love love love Lindsay Buroker , one of my favorite authors. Loved the elf tangent and well, this one annoyed me. Still an easy read, but felt like deja vu, I also feel that it might be a better choice to change narrators for different series . I kept on thinking , that I was listening to Dragon gate , similar theme, different names. While Vivienne Leheny has a wonderful voice and does excellent male voices, the way that she portrayed princess Hysithea was not to my liking , very annoying in my opinion. First of her books , I`d just say ...meh....you can skip this one. Sorry and sad to not give it 5 stars, like I do with all other Lindsay Buroker books.

It was better than The Rogue Prince which I could not finish. The heroine annoyed me but I like to first book and want to keep listening for the other characters that I came to like from book 1.

Just meh. Predictable story with no twists. FMC is super naive and despite the FMC's insistence that she's old enough, strong enough, smart enough etc, the writer never really provides evidence that the FMC is any of these things. Reads like it was written by an angsty teenager.

This was the 2nd book and it was even better than the first and I loved the first one it's nice it was not a smut book but a love adventure. Ya I like the smut ones to but you can listen to only so many of then in a month. Must listen to the first one if you can

Lindsay has a way of drawing you into her characters. It’s the same with all the books. I’ve read of hers and I love the witty comments and the banter between characters. I really hope we can get some more books in this series.
