About this audiobook
Boy meets Cop. For the first time, books 1 - 3 of The Adrien English Mysteries collected in one volume!
Fatal Shadows - When his former best friend and employee is murdered following a very public argument, bookseller and sometimes mystery writer Adrien English finds himself suspected of murder.
A Dangerous Thing - Adrien English arrives at the Pine Shadow Ranch only to find a corpse in his driveway. By the time the unfriendly local sheriffs arrive, the body has disappeared.
The Hell You Say - It’s Christmas time and the “ill-starred and bookish” bookseller and occasional mystery writer must contend with a Satanic cult, a handsome university professor and his on-again/off-again relationship with the eternally conflicted LAPD Detective Jake Riordan.
And, as ever, murder...

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Decent mysteries. I finished it, but I really don’t like the characters and won’t be continuing . By book 3 the two MCs relationship comprised of sleeping together twice a week. Jake refers to gay men as fags (in a very negative way) in front of Adrien and he never calls him on it. It’s disrespectful and Adrien acts like is ok and acceptable. And Adrien just accepts that Jake is still sleeping with and has a relationship with a women after almost a year???
** mild spoiler**
And then when Jake let’s him know the women from the other relationship is pregnant, they never talk about it. Just act like that is nothing also and keep sleeping together. It’s one messed up relationship with very few redeeming qualities.
Aidren has very little self worth and Jake disrespectful and hurtful. I know they will eventually get together again, but I don’t want them too. And worse than that I really don’t care about them.
Won’t be finishing the series.6 people found this helpful
