About this audiobook

Clever and ambitious, Special Agent Adam Darling (yeah, he’s heard all the jokes before) was on the fast track to promotion and success until his mishandling of a high profile operation left one person dead and Adam “On the Beach.” Now he’s got a new partner, a new case, and a new chance to resurrect his career, hunting a cruel and cunning serial killer in a remote mountain resort in Oregon.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Haskell may seem laid-back, may even seem like a goofball, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a tough and efficient cop when he has to be. And Rob is none too thrilled to see feebs on his turf—even when one of the agents is smart, handsome, and probably gay. But a butchered body in a Native American museum is out of his small town department’s league. For that matter, icy, uptight Adam Darling is out of Rob’s league, but that doesn’t mean Rob won’t take his best shot.

If I had to choose just one author to read it would probably be Josh Lanyon. OMG these books are so exciting and fun and snarky and keep me guessing until the end.

Winter Kill is a short novel in the world of The Art of Murder. It involves FBI Special Agent Darling, a character mentioned so many times in the books, that it's hard to believe this is the first time we actually meet him. Darling is sent to investigate a murder in a small town where he pairs up with Deputy Sheriff Robert Haskell.

There are many murders to solve and characters to meet. Oh and of course there is some sexy time for Rob and Adam.

I didn't think the epilogue was necessary. I suspect some early readers demanded it.

Anyway, I hope we get to see Adam Darling again.

I listened to this book on Scribd. Gomez Pugh did a fantastic job narrating.

Solid book. Good story. Kind of an abrupt ending, but enjoyable.

a solid story, good performance, and engaging romance. it’s pretty much classic Josh Lanyon, so if you liked her other stories, you’ll probably like this one, too. I’d recommend reading the Art Of Murder series as well- before or after, either works, but the stories are connected!
