I’ve read all manner of paranormal and fantasy novels throughout the years. This was an amazing story and I’m absolutely anticipating book 3. The only issue with this book is if you’re a binge reader you’ll want to make sure you’ve gotten all the books before beginning.1 person found this helpful

The first book was okay, but the male narrator was terrible. So smarmy. I didn't even finish listening to this one because of him. I had to skip through every love scene with him reading because he was just yuck. Like, literally, I was saying out loud, "Eww. Gross. Yuck." And the constant "wildcat". So annoying. I finally just turned it off. I realized I simply didn't care what happened.1 person found this helpful

A DNF for me ? I was looking for something in the realms of Fourth Wing/ACOTAR/TOG/CC/Jennifer L. Armentrout/Powerless/Crown of Nyaxia, and I made it through the first audiobook in this series with mild interest, but honestly - the world building isn’t good, the shadow daddy isn’t that good, the male narrator definitely isn’t that good, and if I hear the word “wildcat” one more time I might barf. ?????
Read it if you want JLA-smut vibes, but aren’t looking for a world to bury yourself in.
… or try the e-book version, maybe the narrator is the real villain here!2 people found this helpful

This wasn’t for me. I loved the first book it was so very clever. The first book had some sex and it wasn’t the focus of the story. The second book doesn’t allow the two MC to have a scene in the book without an explicit sexual encounter. Bummed me out because I loved the characters. Foul language was also more prevalent in the second book. It’s odd to me that they were both written by the same person. So if it’s soft porn you’re after this is for you. Not so much for me.1 person found this helpful
