Lauren Nossett is a professor of German language and literature. Her scholarly work has appeared in journals and edited volumes. She attended the Tin House Summer Writers’ Workshop in 2015 and 2017. The Resemblance is her first novel. She currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

This is a new author for me, and I'm impressed with their ability to draw the reader into the story and have you empathize with the characters. The suspense is good, though there could be even more tension. The author touches on the topic of racism but doesn't hit you over the head with it - this sensitivity makes it more real.
