About this audiobook
Only one thing matters to Kai: getting the job done, and doing it better than anyone else.
But when a beautiful thief crashes his security gig, claiming she's trying to protect the valuable artifact he's guarding, all his careful plans go up in flames. He doesn't believe a word she says-until the item is stolen right out from under them.
Recovering the artifact before the real thief can unleash its ancient magic requires insider knowledge-information the mysterious trespasser possesses. Teaming up with a stranger isn't Kai's idea of smart, but he'll need all the help he can get to take on a notorious rogue and arcane power from the time of the gods.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a bit odd. Could not fibure it out, but apparently this is a prequel of the Spellbound series, although it says nothing any where that is what it is. I am only guessing as it said the book Three Mages and a Whiskey are next in the series after I did the review. It was short and focused on Kai. Maybe an after thought by the writer and slapped at the beginning of series or ???
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fun short fantasy adventure. Full of excitement with a dash of fresh flirtatious romance. The narrator makes it even more enjoyable.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved it, the instant romance the straight-forward plot. Definitely reading the next book
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I REALLY wanted to like this story.
I love Annette Marie’s spellbound series. This however, was painful. I endured the whole thing mostly because I was painting & it would have been too much of a hassle to try & switch books (without getting paint in my hair or on my phone).
Sad. I wish it would have been even slightly better than tolerable.
