About this audiobook

Life's no fun being a dragon, especially when you are forced into responsibilities that involve trying to keep the peace between an array of shifters, mages, and faeries in order to bring down the scariest and deadliest foe the Otherworld has ever seen. And that's not to mention the fact that your own soul mate hates your guts . . .

Mack Smith, a fiery Draco Wyr, is battling to come to terms with her emotions, her heritage, and her true capabilities. All she has to do is defeat Endor, win back Corrigan, and live happily ever after. From the streets of London and Russia to the beaches of Cornwall, will she ever be able to win the day?

What can I say, I really enjoyed the series! As for Bloodlust, the story was good. I would have like to see a bit more relationship development between Mack and Corrigan, but it wrapped up nicely at the end, if a little contrived. I can say that the characters, world building, and the book arc plots were the series strong points and they were quite good. I certainly had a good time reading the series. Jack Murphy

I read your 5 books about Mack and Corrigan. I expected a better ending. It's almost like you decided to throw that ending together in 5 minutes. Not a good plan. It sucked. For those worrying, Mack and Corrigan got their HEA. The editing seemed worse too in this book. Anyway, when I finish a series I want a reason to gush about it in a positive manner. It's like the ending was an after thought.

Also these books can not be read as stand alone's. You have to read them in order.

Amazing books. Mackenzie is a fierce and brave woman, I love that she can take care of herself and don’t need a man to rescue her all the time. The separate stories intertwine a bit with each other making you want to hear more. I didn’t even realize when I finished the series.

Everything! I loved the series and the love story! There was a lot of action, too!

I'm sad the series is finished, but that's a good sign. I enjoyed this series, and the last book was great to me.
The struggle in love verse responsibility was clearly and well written. The emotional struggles Mac goes through are beautifully displayed. She is not written as a heroine who makes the best decisions or simple ones. Nope, she battles her own failures, owns them, and grows from them.

I've read other reviews that slash the plot for the decisions made. I don't totally disagree or agree. I just think people forget to think of the heroine as a person. But focus on the events that could have made the story more intense. But, could a person who loses her father figure, then her home and family. Then they have to go into hiding, fearing what they are will harm the only family they have known. At the same time, she's dealing with finding out what they really are. Could anyone really take on anymore without falling apart!?! She discovers she's a once thought of extinct species, and her blood could be used for good or evil. Not only that, but she has to navigate her heart and her growing attraction to the head of the brethren. The same brethren she grew up thinking will wipe out her family if they find out shes not a shifter.

She's been brought up to protect and fight to keep her loved ones safe. So I disagree that the love interest was too convenient. I would argue that these people who have little friends and straight but heavy responsibilities would not know how to look at the emotions that can lead to love. It's not on their radar, so if that love interest strikes right, it's not surprising they fall in so easily. The feelings are so alien that it distracts from their known path that they have to refocus to figure it out or they lose all focus. That is why they fall hard and fast once they accept it.

Now to this book and things in the last book which you would think should be more prominent. Being a wry dragon means she has a sworn blood enemy. But the story and world have a bigger baddie to worry about, Endor! Realistically, which one is going to surface up more as a threat to anyone's radar, especially someone trained as a protector of the pack. The personal or the world threat. Endor would!
Maybe if Endor knew she was a wry dragon earlier and saw her as a threat, then the race of decendants sworn to kill all wry dragons may feature more. But, remember! She just found out what she is. It's not common knowledge. And there's no information out there. Everyone thought her race was a myth. So no way would her blood enemy be ready to come at her in the same period of time Endor plan is working, and knowing his plans has been in works for years I doubt Endor would want to risk an unknown into his plans to take all power. So that's my thinking on those points.

    Things I wish.
    - There is a moment she goes all dragons on a threat. In the book, I thought we would read all the battle bits. But it gets cut, and it's no more... this to me is like one of those films where you wish you could see the directors cut. Cause I know the scene is not needed, but my craving self would have wanted it!
    - Lord Sol and the sudden love interest...what happened there, why was it so important.
    - Wish there was more smut, though. But knowing this author, I've noticed you usually get one full-on descriptive steamy scene, and then it's either mentioned in as it happened again or back to the business of world saving. Wonder if she will work with another author one day on a book that's a bit more smut filled. I would happily read that!

OK, I've rambled enough. I enjoyed this book. I laughed at times, ached when they were in pain, and battle cried when they fought. Yup, I totally became invested in this world.
The ending was perfect closure for me. Made sense for all the reasons I mentioned before, and when you read the book, you may feel the same.
