About this audiobook

Agent Cooper Dayton is going to meet his boyfriend's werewolf family. Unarmed. On their turf.

And he's bringing his cat.

When Agent Cooper Dayton agreed to attend the funeral for Oliver Park's grandfather, he didn't know what he was getting into. Turns out, the deceased was the alpha of the most powerful werewolf pack on the eastern seaboard. And his death is highly suspicious. Regardless, Cooper is determined to love and support Park the way Park has been there for him.

But Park left him woefully unprepared for the wolf pack politics and etiquette. Rival packs? A seating order at the dinner table? A mysterious figure named the Shepherd? The worst is that Park didn't tell his family one key thing about Cooper. Cooper feels two steps behind, and reticent Park is no help.

There are plenty of pack members eager to open up about Park and why Cooper is wrong for him. Their stories make Cooper wonder if he's holding Park back. But there's no time to get into it . . . as lethal tranquilizer darts start to fly, Cooper needs to solve the mystery of the alpha's death and fight for the man he loves-all before someone else dies.

Contains mature themes.

This is probably my favorite paranormal fantasy series in recent memory. Hits just the right balance between plot and romance.

I really love both the main characters and I really hope Oliver can finally start doing some work toward honesty from now on. While there's some miscommunication, it's acknowledged and understandable, and bot the characters actively work toward bettering themselves.

This book is not standalone. It follows The Wolf at the Door and The Wolf at Bay.I enjoyed this series. Cooper is an FBI agent who survives a werewolf attack. He's in a space of 'What the fuck? Werewolves aren't real but I know what I saw!' and he is offered a new role in a new division which will explain everything....on the understanding that if he accepts the new role, his career in the FBI is over. He accepts, and is told that yes, werewolves are real, and he is now part of the Bureau of Special Investigations which investigates werewolf crime. Oh, and his new partner is a werewolf. The first book in the series is set in neutral territory as Cooper and Park investigate a suspected serial murderer. I love it when I can't predict who the killer is. The book kept me guessing. The second book is set in Cooper's hometown, and there were more whodunits, and some interesting action. This one, the third, was my favourite and set in Park's hometown, and there was a twist there that I did not see coming but which made crazy sense when it happened. Well played, Charlie Adhara! The humour was brilliant. I loved Cooper's snark.'“How do I look?” he blurted as they approached the car. He couldn’t help it.“Like you’ve seen some shit,” Park said.“Oh, good. I like to stay on brand.''Call me crazy, but that looks like a clue, Blue.”'If you enjoy paranormal romance, this series is great. A nice balance of action and emotion, and I thought the incorporation of the werewolves into the real world was realistic and well done.

Now it’s time to meet Park’s influential werewolf family, gathered for a memorial service. But since they’re a ruling clan, there’s intrigue and more murder, and something a bit odd about Cooper develops that might be tied to what being an alpha really means. (It’s not omegaverse alphas.)

You’ve heard the saying “You can’t go home”. No one actually puts much stock in it, but poor Cooper should have been giving it second thoughts. He so wanted to make Oliver Park proud of him and have Park’s family feel that he was worthy of their Oliver. Nothing went right from the start, The car broke down and Oliver left Cooper with the cat while he walked into town but Cooper was visited by an over friendly wolf that could open car doors and even smirk while licking his face. He is then "rescued by a research team that are collecting data about wolves that "act strangely”. To say Oliver Park’s family is dysfunctional would be like calling The Titanic a rowboat. I really have enjoyed this series and these two characters but I do wish there was more books in the series or that there might be a chance of there ever being any more. I do have one more in the series that I intend to devour shortly. Things will definitely be changing for both Cooper and Park - I can't wait to see what's in store for them next.

This one didn't keep my attention as well as the others, although I loved everything about the setting and the story. I could say more, it's all definitely worth a read. Series: 3.5
