About this audiobook

When Kai flies out of a shed, swinging a rake, Rick's life flips upside down.

As alpha, Rick's dedication to his pack has never wavered-until Kai. The pull he feels toward the younger man is more than a simple distraction, but Rick won't let himself lose focus. Not while a hidden enemy is drawing near.

Moving in with the grumpy alpha who saved him is a big change for Kai, and it isn't long before he begins to ache for something he can't have. As a half-human shifter responsible for his three younger siblings, he knows he can never be Rick's mate.

Pushing aside their doubts and insecurities, they grow closer. But when the pack's enemies strike, bringing their fears to fruition, Rick and Kai have to decide if they're willing to risk it all to be together.

Mixed feelings about this one as I listen. Don't know if I'll finish.

Power dynamics which go along with a shifter world, but there's also the dynamic of how young and traumatized the love interest of the alpha is. Just creeps me a bit. It's one thing for two adults to agree to alpha/boy dynamics. But when the "boy" is literally a scared boy? Queezy making.

But the narrator is so good, imho. And I think it's well written - just not my flavour of tea.

The book is fine, decent writing. The thing that really bothered me is how hetero-normative it is. This could have been written as a hetero book and it would have ticked all the patriarchal boxes for a pairing. I could excuse some of it as "shifter dynamics", but once I noticed how hetero-normative the book is, I couldn't enjoy it. It really soured the whole thing for me.

I loved this! Seriously didn’t want it to end. The sex scenes are very hot and the narrator did amazingly.

This was so so sweet and very spicy. Great world building. Very interesting take on werewolves and pack.

The book was okay written it was a slow burn relationship and an unsolved mystery as a cliffhanger. Narrator had a neutral voice that made it confusing on who was talking but that was no issue. Not going to continue the series as I feel it’s not worth it at least for now, maybe curious few months from now. I felt this book was lacking something not sure what but my interest was lost. I still wanted the story to be finished

So well written and narrated. The hurt in the hurt/comfort factor is a little strong, have to skip some parts every time I listen to it (four times so far).
