About this audiobook

He had a strict "no tourists" policy . . .

Until she broke all of his rules.

When Graham Barnett named his diner The Tourist Trap, he meant it as a joke. Now he's stuck slinging reindeer dogs to an endless parade of resort visitors who couldn't interest him less. Not even the sweet, enthusiastic tourist in the corner who blushes every time he looks her way . . .

Two weeks in Alaska isn't just the top item on Zoey Caldwell's bucket list. It's the whole bucket. One look at the mountain town of Moose Springs and she's smitten. But when an act of kindness brings Zoey into Graham's world, she may just find there's more to the grumpy local than meets the eye . . . and more to love in Moose Springs than just the Alaskan wilderness.

This had me laughing quite a bit. All the hilarious situations the main character gets herself into while traveling was so great! Loved the small town vibes and felt like I took a bit of my own trip to Alaska while reading this book.

3.5 stars. This was a mostly cute enemies-to-lovers vibe romance. Graham is the grumpy diner owner who hates tourists, and Zoey is the quirky, down to earth, unemployed and impoverished traveler surrounded by a rich friend (Lana) and Lana's filthy rich friends. Zoey is determined to get everything she can out of this trip she's saved forever for, but lots of stuff goes wrong. And she starts to fall for Graham who refuses to entertain the idea of a short term affair with a tourist, but also actively blames other tourists for issues but "Zoey is different". I didn't fully love this, but my biggest issues were : the instalove - they just met! It's like two weeks! And half of it plus, they weren't even dating and half their interactions were unpleasant?- and the violence - holy moly, Graham thinks pretty much every issue with another man can be solved with a punch to the face or a beating (and no one seems to call him out on that macho BS) and even Zoey is kind of quick to violence in the name of self-defence (even when there's no actual danger) and it's just forgiven. I'm hoping I'll like Lana's story more!

I’ve been trying to not DNF more books lately but I just couldn’t finish this one. I’m only like 35% through this book and I’m so freaking bored! It was just dragging for me. It’s just a cute story but I didn’t find it interesting or very funny. And my TBR list is just too long to keep listening to this audio book.

In my opinion the book was way too long and the problem was not a problem at all. It was a sweet story but could have been better.

If you don't like Hallmark movies, you won't like this book...and vice versa.

There's some books I read that I think are written with the CONSCIOUS hope that they'll get turned into a movie....and I didn't get that impression here at all. HOWEVER....I think the reader will enjoy this book more if they IMAGINE it as a Hallmark movie.

Because the related cliches/tropes associated with squeaky clean romcoms are VERY much at play here, including instalove that is somehow simultaneously a slow burn. But this book also offers plenty of unique factors that would actually play out MORE charmingly on screen than I feel like they did on page:

Lumberjack-y wanna-be chainsaw artist turned VERY reluctant diner owner....

A restaurant operated capriciously by a surly owner who makes people help him clean the place up and kicks people out so that he can close at will, that somehow manages to be a Must Stop for despised tourists....

....a slightly nerdy heroine who gets into endless scrapes while checking off the bucket list items on her hard-earned dream trip to Alaska....

.....OH, and a moose in love with a sadly molested truck.

I felt like 11 hours was EXCESSSSSIVE for this story, which could easily have been told more than adequately in 8. Still, I was ultimately charmed by the very real tender affection that grew between the H/h, and their start and stop inching towards intimacy. So I'll gladly round up my 3.5 star score to a 4 for the purpose of this review.

This was really cute and a lot of fun, but it was a little bit too long, there were parts where the story dragged a bit.

Basicly a policeman and a dinner owner threaten to prosecute a woman unless she goes on a date

This was a very cute and entertaining story. I loved how the characters and scenes were written. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing out the emotions and attitudes of the characters. It was refreshing to get away from the sexual content and focus more on the main subjects of the story. Ulysses will be in my heart forever. I actually shed a tear for the big guy. *sigh
